I got an email from my mother yesterday saying there was a phone message from me from the freaking fertility specialists! They called HER instead of calling ME!!! Luckily, she said it was a call from Boston IBF instead of Boston IVF so I can only hope that she doesn't put two & two together. I don't know why they called her instead of me. Her number is down as my emergency contact, but my number is clearly there for contacting me. I'm a bit p****d off about it. My mother doesn't know anything about what we've been doing with TTC or fertility testing. I have purposely kept her in the dark. I know if she knew what was going on, she'd be unnecessarily concerned and would bug me every month about whether or not I was pregnant. I also wanted to be able to give her a fun surprise when I do get pregnant. I called them and left a message with the answering service and told them they had called the wrong number. I'm going to call them again in a little bit to talk to them and set up an appointment. I will also make it very clear which number they should call. I still can't believe they did that!!

I am sorry they called your mom. Hopefully she stays in the dark about things. Good luck talking to them today.

That is insane! You would think they would only call that number in case of a real emergency, it shouldn't even be listed with the other numbers!

Sarah that's terrible. I can't figure out why they would have called that number. Hopefully she doesn't put two and two together. Definitely set them straight about which number to call.

I was able to talk to them and made it clear which was the correct number. It totally is a major HIPPA violation! They felt really bad. Anyway, I was able to get an appointment for November 7th. I hope they are able to help me out and give me the answers I need to get pregnant and stay pregnant!

I had something similar happened, they called the wrong number, a number that was for emergencies only, I don't know how hard it is to look at the number, if it says emergency, don't call if it's not an emergency.
Sorry this happened, I hope your mom doesn't put 2 and 2 together.

Hey if Missy says it's true then it must be! Sorry they were such dopes, but with any luck your mom won't have any idea who they were. And maybe you'll get special treatment cuz they feel bad... Good luck on the 7th Sarah... hope you find some answers!

I had a dream 2 nights ago but afraid to say it as I don't want to break my 100% ratio. And even worse get your hopes up and be wrong.
Are you taking Robitussin/musinex this cycle?

holy crud Sarah, that's SO NOT OK, you definitely need to say something to their office manager....i'm sure it was a mistake, but omg i'd freak out if my OB or peri called my mom accidentally...sheesh
