So after my u/s confirming my loss last week and the surprise that it appeared I had basically completed the m/c naturally, they did another beta to follow my levels until they returned to zero (or at least below 5). My beta from last week was 61 - so I really had basically finished the m/c on my own...took 2nd beta today, and result was that i'm officially below 5!
With that, they let me schedule the bloodwork for the recurrent loss testing - that'll be a big blood draw apparently (they warned me to eat a big breakfast and drink a lot of water beforehand....yikes!) on Nov 28th!!!
Not sure how long it will take to get those results back...so I'm just hanging out, waiting for cycles to normalize...plenty of time to stalk charts & encourage rampant POAS in here
For those who had natural m/c, how long did it take for AF to return? When I had D&C with first loss it took FOREVER (47 days of forever to be precise) for AF to return...i'm hoping that b/c this happened naturally that it'll be more like a normal cycle, or is that too optimistic?

I got my first post-m/c AF about 5 weeks after it happened. I wish I could give you a concrete answer, but it seems like it really is different for everyone. Your numbers seem to have dropped really well though so hopefully you won't have long to wait. I wish you didn't have to wait so long for the recurrent loss tests but hopefully they will give you some definitive answers and help you get your rainbow baby.

I'm still dealing with my neverending miscarriage, so I can't say when it will resolve and I'll get my cycle back......but in your case, since your numbers are already below 5, I would assume you'd be back on track rather quickly, ovulate in 2-4 weeks and AF in 4-6 weeks.

So sorry again Lara...
My miscarriage was at 11 weeks and I passed everything naturally. My first AF came 30 days after the date that I actually passed everything.
I so hope that they can find you some answers with the testing and get you that rainbow baby...

I'm so sorry you're going through this again. Both of my m/c's have been natural ones. I got my 1st AF 4 weeks after the first time, and 3 weeks after the second time. My first post m/c AF was fairly normal, then cycles 2 and 3 were REALLY heavy (at least with my first m/c... the second seems to be following suit. I'm halfway through cycle 3 with post m/c #2 right now, so haven't had the 3rd AF). As for the recurrent pregnancy loss panel, a close friend of mine had one done when she was struggling with fertility issues, and she warned me that it is a HUGE blood draw. She said they take 14 vials of blood. Don't mean to scare you, but thought you would appreciate having the information so that you could mentally prepare for it. I hope that you get your happy ending soon!

I had a D&C Sept. 14th and am still waiting the return of AF, I am on cycle day 42. I do see and feel signs of it, but then it's like a trick and goes away, making me soooo angry.
My doctor told me anywhere from 4-6 weeks, and today is exactly 6 weeks. However, I just read somewhere recently that your body doesn't start getting back to normal until all the HCG is out of your system, which could take some time. Since you know your numbers are already low, from this point on, hopefully you will see a more normal time frame.
Good luck ;o)
WOWZA, doremi - 14 vials of blood - I hope they lay you down for that; if not, since I would def get woozy, I would be asking to lay down!
Hope the results come back quick for you, LSBB =)

So very sorry to hear this. I did have a much faster return with my natural miscarriage versus my D&C. I think about 5 weeks with the natural. I hope the same for you.

I've had 2 natural miscarriages... AF returned about 5 weeks after. Just like you I had low HCG numbers and going fast so it sounds like wait around 5 weeks.
When I got my recurrent testing done they took 19 vials of blood and it took 3 pokes cause eventually the vein would give out. AND I had to fast for mine. I was dying.

thanks for the feedback everyone - i'm really hoping b/c this resolved naturally that AF will show up sooner...time will tell i suppose.
And thanks for the heads up on the # of vials (14 is crazy btw!)...i think they said it'd be like 8-10 vials which is still a LOT, so it was nice they warned me to eat a good breakfast beforehand, because i'm normally a very light eater in the morning
Kayla - i don't know how you did that fasting i'd have passed out...

Oh my that testing was 16 tubes for me. Not sure what all they tested me for but it was crazy how weak I felt for that whole day. Do make sure you eat well for breakfast and also try to have something with iron for dinner (like a steak). As for when AF returns for me each time has varied so much. I would say track your cycle and you should have a pretty good idea. If you ovulate in 2 weeks then AF should arrive in 4. That's how I did it after mine.

Lara - I'm just popping in to say how sorry I am for your loss.
With my m/c AF returned exactly 28 days from when I first started to spot (about 23 days after my loss). If you're charting you should be able to see when you O.
Good luck with the blood draw and TTC!

Mine was 31 days...but, I had a missed M/C and had to take cytotec, so my HCG took about 3 weeks to come down to zero (just based on taking ICs)...given that your HCG has dropped so fast, your body should be back on cycle pretty soon...
Just wanted to add some...

I'm thinking of you

Maybe it just depends on your body instead of natural miscarriage vs D&C? I had a D&C and had my period 4 weeks later. I was surprised when it did happen that quickly because I thought it would take longer so Im hoping yours comes just as fast!
Good luck and Im sorry for your loss.

I started just about six weeks after my M/C, and it was a normal AF. I just finished today. I know that it's different for everyone though... but I was told that 5 or 6 weeks is really common.
