I am almost positive that I am out this cycle so I think I am going to look into ordering some OPKs for next cycle. I know nothing about when to use them or anything basically, other than you pee on them lol. Please help me ladies, tell me everything I need to know.

I just buy the Wondfo OPKs from Amazon. You can get a 40 OPK/10 HPT pack for under $10. On your first cycle of using them, you might want to start pretty soon after the last day of AF... just so you don't miss the surge.

You don't want to use FMU with them because the luteinizing hormone actually metabolizes later in the day. So using them sometime between 10am and 6pm is ideal, though later in the night would be okay. I like to use them every day at the same time (5:30pm for me) until I start getting fertile CM. Then I typically use them twice a day... morning and evening. Most women will catch their surge using just once per day, but I like the extra security. Since Wondfo OPKs are so cheap, I don't feel like I'm totally throwing $ away.

Since you always have some LH in your body, it's not unusual to always see a test line. However, unlike HPTs, the test line must be as dark or darker than the control line, or it's not positive.

Once you do get a +OPK, it means that you will generally ovulate between 12 to 36 hours (maybe 48 hours). So I always like to BD the day I get a positive, as well as the day after. Some women will get a couple days worth of positives. My rule is to BD until the day after the + goes away.

That's about all I can think of for now. But ask more questions if you have them.

I use the Wondfo's too. I agree with starting to use them fairly soon after AF ends for the first few months. I would also recommend keeping your sticks so you can compare the progression. I've been fooled a couple of times, thinking I had my positive OPK, and then realizing the next day when I tested that the line was actually DARKER the next day. Keep using them until you've had a super dark line one day, followed by a faint line the next. That is how you will know for sure the egg has dropped. As for when to dtd, once you've done a few cycles and you have a general idea of when you tend to ovulate, they say the best thing to do is dtd the 5 days prior to ovulation, and 1 day after. And OPK only shows you 24-36 hours prior to when you ovulate, so you actually should start dtd sooner than when you get your +OPK. I find with the Wondfo's, that my lines start to gradually darken as I'm nearing ovulation, so when that starts to happen is when we start BD-ing. Hope that helps! Good luck!

One more thing... I actually DO use first morning urine. I think the important thing is that you try to take the OPK at around the same time each day.

I agree with the other ladies! The wondfo ones from Amazon are super cheap but work so well. I also wanted to add that even BDing every other day works too. Good luck!

I agree with the other ladies. Using the Wondfo I didn't feel guilty using more then one a day. I also used the Clearblue Digi Ovulation sticks. I loved seeing the smiley face.

I agree with the other ladies and just want to add that you'll want to make sure your urine is nice and concentrated so it's best to hold off on your liquids and hold your urine for at least two hours before you take the test. The more concentrated, the better...same with HPT's.

Also keep track of your CM... it usually is a sign that you definitely should be using the OPK's around that time.... You should be expecting the "+" opk a few days after...
I use the clearblue digital OPK... shows me the smiley face so I can be for sure that I "O'ed"... but I think i'll be jumping over to wondfo because you get more for the money (thanks ladies ) ....

I personally use the digital clearblue easy OPK from the store. They have worked great and there is no guessing with the lines. It tells you with a happy face or an empty face. Happy means LH surge and to get started trying. My SIL used the same ones and she loved them too. And when I get close to when I think I am going to ovulate I actually start testing once in the morning and once at night. I almost missed my surge once becauase I hadn't been doing that but for some reason desided to test and it was postive. So as a test I did it again in the morning and it was negative. Ever since then I test twice a day sometimes three times. I have caught my surge at all times of the day so far.

I just wanted to add that a lot of girls use the cheapie OPKs until it looks like they have a positive/close-to-positive and then back it up with a digi. That will save you some $ and give you the peace of mind that you do in fact have a +.
