So we decided to go ahead and try again this cycle, since my hCG stayed so low and dropped to 0 very quickly. And since the m/c was so early, it was just a little heavier than a normal period. My O was two days ago, so I know that FF will give me crosshairs tomorrow. I'm just so nervous about how the next couple of weeks will unfold.
I know that I have a luteal phase defect, and I'm pretty sure that's why my pregnancy didn't stick. My doctor is an idiot and couldn't believe that my LP was previously just 5 days, even though I had the charts to prove it. But the B6 seems to be working wonders, and I know my LP is at least three days longer than it was just a couple of cycles ago. My temps are raging, and I feel really good about our timing and everything else this cycle.
At the same time, though, I'm kind of kicking myself for trying. Since I did get pregnant last cycle, I really don't have a reference point for how long my LP would have been. I'm starting to feel some regret that I didn't give the B6 a little more time to work. At the same time, though, we don't know for sure what the reason was for the loss (it's just a feeling).
Since my doctor said she wouldn't do a progesterone/FSH check unless I'd had another loss, I don't know exactly what I'm working with here. I purchased natural progesterone cream a couple of months ago, thinking I would use it along with B6 to lengthen my LP. It's still sitting with my TTC stash unopened. I'm just kind of scared to use it, but I'm also scared not to use it.
I don't guess I'm looking for advice or anything. I just wanted to get that out. Thanks for obliging me.

Crossing my fingers that the B6 works it's magic this cycle and brings you a sticky BFP. That's crappy that your OB won't do the testing for progesterone. Such a simple fix. I wish more OB's were proactive.

My current doctor is just a GP, but she has a background in OB. I thought this would be great, but I'm learning that she really only deals with low-risk, easy-breezy patients. If I do get a +HPT this cycle, I'm going in to request a referral to an OB right away.
I switch doctors in January, when my insurance provider changes. My primary care physician will be my old doctor, whom I love. And I know she will refer me to an excellent OB. I actually already have the name of an OB in my new network, but DH wants me to seek out someone else now. I'm just worried he/she would tell me the same thing. Time will tell...

Praying for you! My doctor didn't even do a lvls check. He is just putting me on progesterone when I get a postive blood check. My friend whom has been TTC for a 2yrs her doctor did the same thing a while back. No tests just put her on it.
Good Luck! I will be lurking your posts, lol. Baby dust and sticking dust your way!

I always get frustrated when Drs won't even try progesterone. I asked for it for 2 1/2 years, because it doesn't hurt if you don't need it!
I lost 10 pregnancies before I finally got someone to prescribe it and surprise surprise, it worked the first time! It really pissed me off. It's not fair that you have to lose 3+ babies before anyone takes you serious, especially when you have proof like you do! Even wihtout proof, you know way more about YOUR body than the Drs!

You girls are the best.
I still can't decide whether to use the natural progesterone cream or not. When I think I've decided not to, I change my mind, and then I change it again. I just really wish I wasn't so torn. It is such a mild dose that I don't know that it would even help enough to prevent m/c. At the same time, though, it is such a mild dose that it can't hurt anything.
Ah, I wish TTC decisions were easier.

I still don't get why they don't test for something as simple as low Progesterone until 2 or 3 losses. It's such a simple fix, why would you let someone m/c again? I mean, you are paying for the tests, not them!
GL, I am just hoping the next time you are pregnant you get your sticky bean!

I don't get it either. When I do get my first +HPT, though, I'm getting bloodwork done immediately and asking for the progesterone to be checked as well. She said that they wouldn't check it even with a pregnancy panel, but I'm going to throw a hissy fit just to be sure.
The weird thing is that I have a feeling my LPD is more FSH-related than progesterone-related. My temps skyrocket when I'm in my LP and even more when I'm PG, and that's not indicative of a progesterone deficiency. However, if my LPD is a result of low FSH and thus poor follicle development leading to either poor egg quality or poor corpus luteum quality... well the progesterone might not make much of a difference.
In the research I've done, the most important thing when examining LPD is the correlation of FSH and progesterone. One level on its own may not mean a lot. And of all fertility problems, it's the easiest to fix. I guess I just have to wait and see if I get that +HPT and go from there.
If it does happen this cycle, I'm hoping and praying that the B6 has done just enough to make the little bean stick. If AF arrives at the end of this cycle, at least I'll know what my new LP length is.
Gotta try to stay positive.

I 100% agree!!
If I were you, I'd go ahead and start the progesterone. Like you said, it won't hurt...and if it helps, that's even better. The B6 should help a lot too. Will your doctor test your FSH at all? I hope you can get a new doctor soon. An OB should definitely do any and all of the tests.

I appreciate all the responses and support, ladies.
After a gut check and trying to take emotions out of the mix, I've decided to wait on the NPC. If I get pregnant this cycle, I'm making an OB appointment stat. If I don't get pregnant, I'll have a better idea of the impact of B6 on my LP. One of my friends on here, who is an engineer, pointed out that when you're doing a scientific experiment, you don't introduce more than one variable at a time. So I'm going to see where this cycle takes me, and then I'll move forward with the NPC next cycle.
TTC is going to make me . Scratch that... I'm already there.
