Where do you live? This all sounds so not right. Not being allowed to know your own health info, which I am sure they are putting in your records. You have every right to know! And the blood thing sounds funny, as well as not being able to see your doctor.

I have to say, hospitals have very poor info sharing laws. I used to work in a several hospitals as an RT (Radiological Tech) and even during the classes we took they told us that all info, scans, x-rays and charts belonged to the hospital and until your doctor released (talked to you about them) they didn't have to tell you anything. I went through the same thing when I had my Transvaginal u/s. She wouldn't tell me anything and she didn't have to. If we want copies of anything we have to 'ask' for them. I don't agree with the laws but it seems that's what they do But as for the heart rate, I'm not sure that falls under those laws. It's odd how little we as patients have a right to in a hospital. It's even illegal to look at your own chart unless the doctor OKs it first. It makes it hard to get any answers. I feel for you But you most definitely have a right to ask to see your own doctor. They can't tell you you HAVE to see someone else. You do have some rights and that is most definitely one.

Sorry for all the issues you are having. Maybe once you see the docotor you love tell him the trouble you are having. Even if I loved that doctor I dont' know if I could go to the same place any more. Especially after having a loss I would expect extra special treatment and understanding.

When I was pregnant with Josiah, I had an OB that I loved who had a lousy staff. I've come to the decision that the staff is JUST as important as the doctor. Now that I am at a clinic with wonderful receptionists, nurses, AND doctors, I am so much happier.

Oh ok Totally different DR. I live in Dayton and see Womens health specialsts and midwives of Dayton. They are supposed to be one of the best in Dayton. The head DR is lead of the board at the L&D at the hospital.

Ok, unless the laws are different state by state you have every right to know every piece of your medical info. Once any piece of information is recorded in your file you own it. HOWEVER, there are rules about who can release test results etc and many doctors do not want nurses taking on that role. You can easily ask for a copy of your entire chart which should have everything, but they might make you come in and pay a fee to get it. Honestly I would switch practices or at the very least throw a huge fit with your doctor about the issues you have had. I wouldn't put up with that kind of BS.
