What are your Thanksgiving plans? Do you host it or do you go to some else's house? Have you ever eaten at a restaurant for Thanksgiving? DO you have any special Thanksgiving traditions?

We are having two Thanksgivings this year. We rotate holidays between our families. My parents get Thanksgiving day this year and then we are having another Thanksgiving the Saturday after Thanksgiving at my BIL's house.

I am SO excited for Thanksgiving - Savannah's birthday falls on it this year!!

We're hosting & celebrating her bday on Thanksgiving so should be a crazy/fun time...to minimize the chaos of cooking though we're going to have some of the food pre-made at our local store (we did this for the 1st time last year and it was awesome & very low stress)

I've never had Thanksgiving at a restaurant.

Tradition-wise...hmm...we always share what we're thankful for as we sit down for dinner. Growing up, my parents (and they still do this today, although they're not hosting this year) always invited every friend they knew who had no family in the area to share Thanksgiving dinner with us. I always thought it was such a nice way of ensuring no one we knew was alone for that holiday, and when I think back we never had a Thanksgiving where we didn't have multiple friends there...

Last year Dh and I started spending the day by ourselves. Since my mom passed away I really don't care to be around family that much. Last year was awesome just being with Dh. We were going to do that this year but Dh's one sister who usually holds Thanksgiving is going away on Thanksgiving day so I don't know what we will do. We will probably have to have Thanksgiving here so Dh's mom don't have to spend it in the home. Just what I need with being pg and everything is having to deal with Dh's mom all day.

We switch holidays every year between my family and DH's family. This year Thanksgiving is with my mom's side of the family. I am super excited (its a big family) to see all of my cousins who are away at college. We are also doing a before Thanksgiving dinner with DH's sister. I love having 2 Thanksgiving dinners!!! Left over turkey sandwiches are the BEST!

for the last 4 years we have hosted thanksgiving for my best friend and her family, this year, with DH's pay cut, buying the new house and etc we just don't have the money.

I'm not sure what we will be doing, we are on the outs with DH's family, and my family is 13 hours away.

I am bummed I love all the cooking, and busy-ness - I'm not sure what we are going to do - I wonder if the pizza place will be open?

Maybe I'll get lucky and get my BFP, and be excited to do something, but as of right now - I don't want to do anything.

I love the holidays! I come from a very large family, and DH comes from a small one. His immediate family (mom, dad, brother, sister) are scattered in four different states, none of which is California (where we live). So when we do spend the holidays with family, it's usually mine (they are all in Missouri).

However, Thanksgiving is always a holiday for just the two of us. A couple of years ago, I invited my dad out (parents are divorced), and that was a really good time. And last year, we had a friend over for dinner with us because he was going to otherwise spend it alone.

This year, it will just be the two of us. I love to cook and bake. So I go all out just like I'm cooking for a large group... only I make smaller portions. This year, I'm hoping to have a bun in the oven... literally and figuratively.

I also put up my Christmas tree and write out my Christmas cards the weekend after Thanksgiving. I usually avoid shopping altogether, but sometimes I go to the less busy, non-mall stores on Black Friday.

DH and my family are good friends so we have one large Thanksgiving with both families which is really nice and causes less stress. The guys go out to DH's parents farm in the morning and shoot clay pigeons while the girls hang out at the house cooking and watching the parade.

It's a great start to the holidays.

We will be hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year, which will most likely include a whole weekend of lots of overnight company. I'm excited about it. I'm sure my mom will cook the turkey, so I'm not too stressed about it. It's just a matter of getting the house ready for so much company. But Charlie will think it's awesome having his cousins here.

Our Thanksgiving plans consist of going to DH's parents house for an afternoon turkey feast. Then we go to my parents house around 6pm and are subjected to another turkey feast. We then go home and hibernate. That's what we've done every year for the past 10 years. With young kids, it's super draining. I hope soon we can transition to doing something of our own, without hurting feelings.

This year, my daughter's 1st birthday falls on Thanksgiving. So maybe we'll add a turkey themed cake to the dessert options this year. (we are having her official big party the Sunday before).
