This question always comes up in my mind when I get a positive OPK. I feel like I should be DTD constantly (like twice a day) or is that overkill?
(This part maybe TMI for some......)
I got a positive OPK last night and we DTD at 6pm then I wanted to DTD this morning before work...... but that was a failed attempt.... I think I drained my DH dry!!!!!!
So I think that we are going to try again this evening afterwork.... OPK's are great but what I'd really like to know is when the eggies will drop and if the little guys reached it! they say it takes with 24 hrs after an OPK but when do you stop DTD?

We DTD every 48 hours or so because DH has MIF. If that isn't an issue for you then every 24 is probably ok. Anything more is probably overkill DH's male fertility specialist indicated that for most men every 36 hours is ideal for the best swimmers. I generally keep up our "routine" for a couple of days past when I think I o'd just to be safe.

Twice a day is probably overkill. Once a day or every other day is sufficient.

If your DH has low count then every other day is best if not every day is fine and anything else is just extra security I call it Try not to pressure yourself. You should O anywhere from 24-48 hours after your LH surge.

I would keep doing it several days after the positive OPK just to make sure. Good luck!!

My doc always told me every 48 hours, she said you will wear yourself out...lol! I had a similar situation with my DH, we DTD one night, then tried again the next night and he wasn't sure what happened, but he felt awful, so I laid off for a day. Sometimes the pressure can get to them, once every 24 to 48 hrs should be good, the swimmers will typically live about 2 to 3 days in your body anyways. I was DTDing until right around when AF should have arrived, literally, we did every 48 hours from the 1st day of not having AF until the 1st day of the cycle...GL!! Catch that eggie

yep yep and my vote is every other day!
