I've been lurking in here for a while and have posted a couple times. Today is exactly three months from the TTC date DH and I have set and I am super excited! I've started taking my vitamins every day and just ordered a bunch of OPKs and HPTs. Right now, I'm not sure if I'm more excited or nervous. I know that I am anxious because I can't wait to start TTC. DH is the only reason we've been waiting so long. He thinks that his parents (who keep telling us to wait forever to have kids) will be less upset about it if we wait until after our anniversary. In a previous post I explained why I agreed to wait. I've been wondering if we were talking about TTC for the right reasons. I've spent a lot of time thinking and I have come to the conclusion that we would probably be talking about it even if we hadn't had our unintended pregnancy (which ended in loss). I know this will be a very emotional journey, but I can't wait to really get started!

Hello and welcome! I hope that your journey is short and sweet here. Sounds like your getting ready for your rainbow baby As far as waiting for other people I've learned by now that if you want for a "right time" you might be waiting forever. Please jump right into posting

It's such an exciting time TTC, but of course it is different when you've suffered a loss. As for waiting: perhaps I am biased, but my sense is that the most important person to consider here if YOU. You have suffered the loss, it's your body that has gone through this, and it's you and your body that is front stage and center as you TTC again. But it sounds as though you feel okay with the waiting... and if you wait you'll have a Christmas baby

Thanks, ladies.

zubeldia - I am hoping for a Christmas baby. If my rough estimates are close, conceiving during my first cycle that we try will give me a due date around the 12th of Dec, early enough that our baby's birthday won't be completely overshadowed by Christmas. It also would mean that I'd have some time to recover before driving out to my parents' for Christmas. I told DH that all I want for Christmas next year is a baby.

Katie - I told that to DH - about there never being a perfect time. He said, "I know, but..." But I don't mind. I'm spending the remainder of my waiting time collecting. I ordered HPTs and OPKs and have been collecting hand-me-down baby stuff. Just got a crib today for free! It'll be a project for DH though b/c it didn't come with the hardware - they'd lost it all.

I am a little worried about getting my hopes up too much but I regret not having bought anything for Angel before we lost her because I have nothing to remember her by - not even an u/s picture because they didn't offer at the first u/s b/c and after hearing that she probably wouldn't make it, I was too upset to ask.

since I didn't get an ultrasound with some of my angels I have always bought a angel figurine for them. I have quite a few and I have my ultrasound pictures in frames from some.

Summer, you can probably call your Drs and ask for a copy of your u/s pic if that would be healing for you. Someone on another board did that. I didn;t ask for a pic of the pregnancy I just lost as it was too painful. But I do have a box, which has this beautiful stuffed animal in, and I have my pics from the first loss and then all the cards and notes I received afterward from friends and family. I also saved my positive hpts in the box. It feels good to have something concrete to hold on to when I am feeling especially low. Something else I'm planning on doing in the Spring, is planting a couple of trees in the garden (we're moving shortly so it;ll be nice to have something growing in our new home).
