So good news is my new doctor ran a progesterone check and my numbers are low. Just a 7. So now we can hopefully prevent a future m/c.

Bad news: I am extremely angry with my old doctors office! I found out because of a mistake in billing from the lab they use, I was calling to find out why I got charged for an exam that my insurance pays 100% for and ended up finding out I tested positive for HPV 16. They were not going to tell me! OMG. How could you not tell a patients they tested positive for pre cancer cells?! I am officially changing doctors and my new doctor will be getting a hold of my records soon. It just makes me ill.

Good for you to stand strong and get the health care that you deserve. I would be very upset if there were things in my chart that were not told to me. ((hugs))

I agree with Missy ! I'm also glad they found the problem and it's treatable!

I'm glad they figured out what was going on and they can fix the problem for you!

I understand being angry with your Dr.'s office. I've had quite the go around with mine too. I'd definitely say something about the positive HPV lab so your new doctor can do a biopsy. Don't freak out too much though, the odds are it's just dysplasia (abnormal cells) and not necessarily pre-cancerous cells. I had dysplasia about 2 years ago and had a biopsy to confirm. I had to go back several times over the year to make sure it didn't return. I can't believe your other office didn't do any of that, and the fact that they didn't even explain it to you is just wrong! I hope your new doctor can offer some peace of mind on that front.

I am glad they figured out that your progesterone was low and are now able to treat it!

How frustrating and completely unnecessary! My sister has had abnormal paps like that and they just monitor it and have found that she just has abnormal cells. KUP!

I also suffer from low progesterone and it is such a relief to find out what is wrong. Plus it is easily treatable. As for the HPV, I'd be angry too. I'm glad you switched doctors. I'd have him check you out just in case.
