It depends on what he checked. If he checked your FSH, he cannot accurately determine your numbers without doing 2 months back to back because the numbers have been known to flucuate so much. Anything under 10 is considered good, and mine from one month was 10.2. My RE at the time told me I had the ovaries of a 35 year old (turns out it was not true, as numbers can flucuate from stress and anxiety among many other things).
I then had my AMH checked (way more accurate as it does not flucuate like FSH does, and only requires one test), and my numbers were normal. Anything under one is bad, between 1 and 2 is good, and over 3 can indicate PCOS. Mine was 1.68 I believe (it has been a while, so I could be off by a bit), which indicates I was fine.
I'd call back and find out exactly where he got these numbers and what tests are he basing it off of. If it is the FSH, I's demand a 2nd test your next cycle. Be careful though, fertility drugs can also alter this number.
