Had a miscarriage Monday night/Tuesday morning. Was roughly 6.5 - 7 weeks pregnant. Had just seen the baby's heartbeat on u/s that morning. I wasn't totally surprised that this happened. My HcG had been rather low, and my progesterone was abysmal (4.8 at last check). They told me to expect it, so I guess I did. Although I admit that seeing the strong heartbeat got my hopes up.

I'm sure many of you can sympathize with my desparation to just get pregnant again as soon as possible. DH and I had been trying only for about 4 months before this one...hopefully we'll have an easy go of it.

Here are my questions: When am I going to have AF? Normally I would have it around the 10th of a month, but I don't imagine I'll have it 10 days from now when I'm still bleeding now from the m/c?

Can I try the first cycle after AF? I can't imagine having to wait....I want to get started soon.

Also, I assume I have low progesterone. I still have vaginal suppositories I can use (took the first one Monday night just before the m/c happened). How often should I use them and when should I start?

I have to wait until at least Dec. 14th, which is when the o'b wants me in to do an u/s to confirm that everything has been passed. It seems like 2 weeks is so long away. To top it off, next Tuesday is my birthday. I was thinking what a happy day it would be, with a little bean to expect, and now I'm just thinking it will be depressing.

I'm so sad about the baby, and so sad about having to start at the begining again. I knew I was pregnant for 3 weeks....a LONG 3 weeks, full of worrying. I hate the thought of going through an entire first trimester of worry now.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I think everyone is different when it comes to getting AF back. My first loss was at 16 weeks and I had a D&C and I had my period right when the docs said I would (about 4 weeks later I think). They told me to wait until after my next period to try again. But again, every doc is different.

Its hard to start over but I hope you can be at peace with what happened and emtionally ready to move forward when your doc says you are able to try again. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your loss. All I can offer is a My loss was a little different, mine was ectopic, so I'm not sure how soon your AF will come around, I know mine happened as if the day of my surgery were the start of a new cycle and I got the real AF 29 days later. I hope you find strength in knowing you have support here and you're never alone. It's a wonderful place to be.

thank you ladies. I've decided to be very proactive. I just ordered a bunch of OPKs and internet cheapies that detect hcg at just 10. That way, I can test to see if the HcG from this pregnancy is out of my system, and go about using the OPKs to find out when I O. Putting all of my effort behind this now.

I just had my 3rd m/c and my AF has always came about 4 weeks after I started bleeding from the m/c (even after my first which was a D&C). Every doctor is different some say go ahead and try right away and others say wait 2-3 cycles. I personally think its more for emotional readiness than physical. My DH and I started trying right away again after the bleeding of my m/c. We were unsuccessful but going to try again this cycle. So I guess imo I personally would start trying when you feel you are ready. We didn't TTC for 5 months from the m/c earlier this year and still m/c but we also found out from blood work that I have low progesterone at times so I am now going to be taking an oral suppliment right after I O and all the way until I am at least 14-15 weeks pg (when I do get pg). Because at that time the placenta takes over. If your progesterone is low and stays low you will continue to m/c over and over. The progesterone sustains the pregnancy until the placenta is formed and takes over feeding the baby. So if you do have a progesterone issue I would definatly talk to your doctor about suppliments.

Sorry for the long explination and I am very sorry you are having to join the part of the forums. But you did come to the right place for support and encouragement. All the ladies are wonderful here and have open arms for anyone who has suffered a loss, including myself.

I'm sorry for your loss. I got my first AF after m/c around CD 38, which is about a week longer than my normal cycle. We were told to wait two cycles after, but tried the 2nd cycle.
I hope this time passes quickly for you and that you are able to enjoy your birthday

I am so very sorry for your loss! I too had seen the hb, my progesterone was not checked, it turned out to be a chromosomal abnormality that was not conducive to life. I have had 2 losses, both times, getting my AF roughly 4 weeks after the D&E, one loss was at 8w and the other at 12. My doc said wait 2 cycles, we waited until right after AF and tried again - both times we were lucky and got pg right away, after the 1st loss, we went on to have a successful pg with a healthy baby, this one is to be determined, but just know, I think they tell you to wait for more emotional readiness, but it really depends on who you ask. If you are ready, and it sounds like you are, go for it...just make sure they are monitoring your progesterone and be glad that they found that to be an issue right off the bat, so you can prevent it the next time!

Welcome and again I am so very sorry for your loss! I hate that we have to get new members in this board! But, it's a great support group!

I am so very sorry for your loss hun! As for your questions...

Here are my questions: When am I going to have AF? Normally I would have it around the 10th of a month, but I don't imagine I'll have it 10 days from now when I'm still bleeding now from the m/c?
When your HCG reaches zero or close to it your body should O around 2 ish weeks from then. It really can vary so your best bet is to try to use OPKs **once your level is zero** and then from there see when you ovulate.

Can I try the first cycle after AF? I can't imagine having to wait....I want to get started soon.
As long as your are physically and emotionally ready there is no reason to wait

Also, I assume I have low progesterone. I still have vaginal suppositories I can use (took the first one Monday night just before the m/c happened). How often should I use them and when should I start?
I start my progesterone starting at 3-4dpo and then take until a negative pregnancy test at 13dpo.

I hope that answers your questions hun and please that's what we are here for
