How soon can you DTD after a loss? Do I need to wait until after the 6 week check up? Or just when I feel emotionally and physically ready?

Im not sure of the correct answer but I will tell you what my experience was.

First loss ended in a D&C so I had a check up 2 weeks after that. The doc said I could DTD once the bleeding stopped but I think I waited until after my period (which was 2 weeks after my 2 week check-up).

This past M/C was natural and very early at 4.5 weeks so we DTD once I stopped bleeding. HTH!

Oh and I will say after the D&C they said no sex or tampons while bleeding for risk of infection.

Ditto what Lindsey said about the no sex or tampons while bleeding. And I was also told that I shouldn't use tampons for my first period after the miscarriage.

As for DTD... if you've stopped bleeding and you're feeling up to it I think you're good. Of course if your doctor is telling you not to for some reason you should listen to them. I know that for me it was hard emotionally the first time... I actually cried during. I mostly believe that you should just trust yourself and listen to what your body is telling you...

HUGS

You can once you stop bleeding...and make sure it's not stopping for half a day, it's stopped for good.

I agree with everyone else! I was told not to DTD for 3weeks only because I had a DNC and they didn't want me to set up an infection.
