So I got a call from my OB this morning - the blood test results came back negative for the auto-immune disorders! She still needs to review my previous testing for clotting disorders, but it's looking like the clotting thing is not my issue. I'm really happy about it, but that means we still don't know what's going on.

So the next step is to do the HSG and check for anatomical abnormalities in my uterus. I'm supposed to call her when AF shows up so that we can schedule the procedure for the end of her visit. I have two blood relatives that have double uteruses so I've decided that this is something that I need to do. If we don't find anything there, then we'll assume it's hormonal and try again with supplemental progesterone. And if we still don't get a sticky bean from that we're going to have to start looking at chromosomal testing and genetic counseling.

Moving in the right direction, Becky. I'll be thinking of you and hoping everything goes well with the HSG. KUP!

It's really rare and sometimes it's not even diagnosed because there can be no complications from it. I have an aunt and a cousin on my mother's side that have it. The aunt had three babies with no problem and the cousin is only 19 and hasn't started trying for kids but was diagnosed because of pain. This is the definition on the Mayo Clinic website:

In a female fetus, the uterus starts out as two small tubes. As the fetus develops, the tubes normally join to create one larger, hollow organ — the uterus. Sometimes, however, the tubes don't join completely. Instead, each one develops into a separate structure. This condition is called double uterus (uterus didelphys).

Double uterus is rare — and sometimes not even diagnosed. The percentage of women with a double uterus is likely higher in women with a history of miscarriage or premature birth.

Treatment is needed only if a double uterus causes symptoms or complications, such as pelvic pain or repeated miscarriages.

Oh it's going Lindz... I'm trying to get as much done in advance as I can, but I'm realizing that there's going to be a lot that I can't do until we get closer. Since the dress that I had picked out was maternity I'm going to have to find another one so my sister and I are going for a fitting on Monday to find another one... that should be fun!

Becky, I'm glad you're getting some good news! I had never heard of that double uterus thing. Very interesting!!! Have a great time planning your wedding!! Just always remember that it is your day and the most important thing is to relax and enjoy it...all of it!! Have you decided where to go on your honeymoon yet? I know you shot down my idea! LOL!!

Hehe Sarah!! I'd actually love to go with your idea but it would end up costing us more than the actual wedding! I think we're going to end up going to the Lodge at Whitefish Lake for a few days... it's really nice and much, much more reasonably priced. And I'm really excited to go dress shopping and so happy that my sister is here to go with me.

I'm getting lots of PMS symptoms right now so I'm expecting to see AF in the next week... then I can call and schedule the HSG!

Tonight we went and got our Christmas tree... so beautiful! Can't wait to have Christmas with excited little ones!
