What!? That is RIDICULOUS! They should squeeze you in and anyone else this doc had to drop by going on vacation. Totally unfair and I would be pissed too. I would call again and complain and tell them they better call you if they have ANY cancellations!

i'd maybe even be a bigger pest and call them every morning at 9am to ask if they've had any cancellations...i bet if you did that for a week straight they'd FIND an appt time for you just to get you to stop calling

I agree with that idea, maybe they will have an opening. Or at the very least be able to squeeze you in somewhere if you irritate them enough.
I'm so sorry Katie, that completely sucks! You'd think that a doctor would have had a vacation scheduled WAY in advance so he didn't have patients scheduled when he was leaving! That's just wrong. Is there anyone else in your area that you can see? I recently tried to find a new doc and had some issues as well...seems everyone is either booked up or gone until February. What is it with that?! It really just ticks me off when offices think you have nothing better to do than wait around for their schedules to open up.

I'm sorry, Katie! I can't believe it's that long of a wait, after you already had an appointment! I agree with the other girls... bug them every freaking day for a cancellation if you have to.

I would be absolutely furious!!! I cannot believe they would do that to you and then put you off for 2 months!!! Are there any other RE's you could see?

That is totally INSANE! I would be breaking stuff too! I am so sorry, I hope that you can get in earlier...that is ridiculous that the doctor didn't schedule vacation before his scheduling started...you may want to change, because if you start off being frustrated and angry with that doc and office, it may not make for a pleasant experience at your 1st appt!

Katie I'm so sorry that they rescheduled your appointment. I would be really mad also. If there is another RE in your area I would definitely see about scheduling with them. It just seems so unprofessional for them to reschedule like they did and then to put the appointment so far away.

I cannot understand how that can be the earliest appointment. What if you are needed to come in a few days after your appointment for some tests? Are you going to have to wait two months then? Is there another RE you were interested in? Was there a reason you picked this one? If not, I'd find someone else because if they are too busy to see you now, what will happen when you have an emergency as an established patient?
Anyway, I am so sorry. I can just feel your frustration.

They should fit you in as soon as possible as it sounds like they screwed up when they made the initial appt. I agree with the other posts. Call everyday until they get you in. I'm sorry this is happening. It must be so upsetting!

I'd raise holy you know what. That is not fair! They should at least be calling you with any available cancellations. And I'm sorry, but you can't tell me that they can't find a way to fit somebody in... they do when there is an emergency!

I am so sorry Katie. I would be so pissed at them. I agree with the other ladies about calling everyday to see if they had a cancellation. Is there another RE in your area that you can go to?

I say that that's completely unacceptable!! Do you have any other options? It seems to me that it just shows a complete lack of understanding and compassion for their patients! I would definitely pitch a fit and if they don't respond to you then I'd go somewhere else! You've had this appointment for a long time and they should be bending over backwards to accommodate you at this point!
GRRRRRRRR!!!!

I'm really mad for you!!! I agree with the others, if I were you I woud call them at least 3 times a week so that you will bug them enough so that they will try to fit you in. But if there is no special reason why you chose this RE i would try to find someone else - someone more serious!!!!

Thanks ladies. DH and I talked last night and I'm going to cancel the appointment. If they don't care about their patients enough and I haven't even saw them yet I don't think I really want to be a patient there. So we are back to square one. I'm hoping to find a new job within the next 2-3 months. If I do then the insurance will be different and they might cover more. As it stands now that was the only RE that the consultation was even covered under insurance. So I'm just going to wait for now. I'm still quite ticked off but everything happens for a reason right?!
