Update on today's RE appt - I didn't get the trigger shot It's CD 12 but the largest follie was 14.5 and apparently he wanted to see an 18 or greater...so I go back on Tue AM - i have to see a different Dr since mine won't be in, but hopefully they'll give me the trigger shot then. RE said my uterus & ovaries look great but reiterated that the thinks I'm not ovulating "ideally" and would benefit from Clomid if this cycle doesn't work out. He hasn't given up on this cycle entirely (which might be just for my benefit so he doesn't depress me, idk) but definitely seems to be preparing me to go a little more aggressive med wise next cycle.

He also said he thinks my less than "ideal" ovulation may be more to blame for my 2 losses than the clotting disorders (it's worth noting that a significant number of REs don't believe clotting disorders cause 1st tri loss, but pose significant risk only in 2nd/3rd trimesters, and I think my RE is in this group). Interestingly he thinks it's not even my age causing the ovulation issue but rather stress and thryroid (i have mild hypo, but well controlled on meds, but apparently even on meds it can mess up your hormonal responses just enough...) So jury is still out on trying Clomid next cycle, but I'm leaning toward trying it if I can convice DH, who really isn't excited to risk multiples

For those who have used trigger shots before (i know there's a handful in here who have), if I ovulate on Monday before Tue appt, then is it too late to do the trigger shot? I'm thinking I need to run out and get some OPKs to test tomorrow & Monday just in case.

I'm sorry your follies weren't ready. If you O before Tuesday it will be too late for the trigger shot. My RE told me that he thought that my less than ideal ovulation was the cause of my 3 losses over my clotting factors too. We did 2 rounds of Clomid that made me O on time but thinned my lining A LOT. The third cycle we did Follistim and IUI and it worked. I know that you have been able to get pregnant on your own relatively easily ( I was too before my third loss), but you might want to try the ovulation meds next cycle just to see. Good luck with this cycle and whatever you decide in the future!

My weak ovulation was the cause of my issues too. Soy actually worked for me. I don't have any clotting issues that I know of yet.

no shot If you got the opks, determined that you are ovulating, and happened to get PG this cycle, would that be OK? Just wondering. And, tell DH to go for multiples. I, for one, would be THRILLED for you.

Sorry your body wasn't ready for the trigger shot! We haven't done any MA, so I am unfamiliar with how everything works, but hoping that Tuesday is a "go day" for you!

thanks everyone...i'm not sure if this is good news or bad news, but I'm still getting negatives on the OPK. The bright side of that is that most likely I'll be able to get the trigger shot at the Tue appt (good thing, will help boost my hormones, lining, etc) BUT it means my cycle is a little messed up which is kind of bad news...today is CD13-14, and normally i'd O right on CD14...i'm guessing the earliest I'd O this cycle will be CD15 or 16, maybe even CD17. Hmmm. More to come at tomorrow's appt...here's hoping the follie's at least an 18 by then!

KELTY!!! you're stalking me in TTCAL...I LOVE IT! wb to your old stomping grounds! And unless you're gonna come take care for me through a twin pregnancy & then help me with 2 newborns you're not allowed to wish me a multiples pregnancy I suspect you could handle twins, I however am far less capable than you!

ETA almost forgot to answer your question...I don't know, i guess it would be ok even if i couldn't have the trigger shot. RE isn't telling me *not* to try even if we missed the trigger, but I secretly fear if he's right and I need the Clomid to ovulate better, that if we did get pregnant it might be another loss...it won't keep me from trying this cycle anyway, but just adds more worry into the mix.

fwiw, the multiple risk is much less when you are older than when you are younger...i took follistim to get pregnant and had FOUR eggs that were mature and ready to ovulate...samf had a very similar protocol and had EIGHT mature eggs when she triggerred...both of us got singleton pregnancies...the way my doc explained it was that having a good eggs is less likely so we want more targets so that hopefully one good one will catch...really hoping that you catch that eggie soon!
