Is it worth it to start charting now? My HCG levels are not to zero and my doctor said a miscarriage doesn't count as a period and I need a full cycle after my period in order to start trying to get pregnant.

I got pregnant our first cycle off the pill so I know we need more data. If I won't ovulate until my HCG levels are at 0 and I don't count as having a period until after that, is it worth it to start charting now or should I wait until after I get a real period?

If it's not too stressful it would help get into the habit of charting/temping. But I wouldn't read too much into the numbers you get.

I agree but I also wanted to add sometimes it helps to see how your body is reacting after a loss. Some women's cycles go right back to normal and some do not.

My temps were all over the place after the m/c so I gave it up.

I agree that you should keep charting. It will be helpful to see if you ovulated again, if your temps are stabilizing, if your CM is getting back to normal. My first cycle post-m/c was pretty wacky. My temps stayed elevated for quite a while, and I had a lot more CM for a longer period of time. It was nice to know that I was ovulating pretty much as normal. And it will just keep you in the habit for the next cycle that you do TTC.

Thanks, ladies. This sucks, but I feel like I'm starting to move towards resigning myself to the fact that this is real and I want to do what I can to get pregnant again. I guess that information may come in helpful in the future.

I would chart so that you can see and have data on how your body is reacting after the loss... It's very helpful.... Good Luck TTC your rainbow baby!

I tried to chart after the loss and my temps were all over the place. After all the issues we had post m/c with my hcg levels not going down I just gave up. I'm taking a little break at the moment, especially with the holidays I knew it would be impossible to get good readings being in different time zones, waking up at different times, etc. I plan to start as soon as my doc gives us the green light to start trying again. It probably would be helpful for you to have the numbers so I think if you feel like it go for it.

Thanks. I decided that I'm not going to chart this week because I'm on school vacation and am having a difficult time sleeping and don't want the added stress. I figure next Tuesday when I go back to work I'll start temping again. I will still do the OPKs starting this afternoon so I can see when I ovulate since we're not supposed to get pregnant this month.
