Confused, how long did you test positive after a m/c? (Poss. pg ment)

I hope you don't mind me posting a question but I'm confused and pretty sure I'm grasping at straws. I need someone to talk some sense into me. I had a d&c on the Dec 9th, I had already started to miscarry. I was supposed to be 8-9 weeks but baby only measured 6 weeks 1 day and didn't have a heartbeat at the ultrasound on the 5th. I took a couple tests over the next couple days after I started bleeding and they were slightly lighter than my darkest one at the beginning. I didn't test afterwards to see if my tests turned negative. About a week and a half I got a wild hair and bought some opk's just to see. I've never used them and I got 2 lines but it was negative. I think that was on the 20th. I did some reading and found out that the lines could be from hcg left over from the m/c. They only cost a dollar and if I have a pee stick of any form, it's hard for me to leave it alone. So the next day, I did another and the test line looked almost as dark as the control, next day I think may have been as dark or very close, following day about the same. I checked my cervical mucus and it was very stretchy. I think I skipped a day or 2 and took my last one and the control line was there but much lighter than the control and cervical mucus was sticky. I have been very much "in the mood" lately too. This weekend my face started breaking out which is normal when I ovulate, during af, or when I'm pregnant. So I figure the earliest I could have possibly ovulated was 7 days ago. I tested this evening and got a very faint, but clearly pink bfp. This must be just left over from my m/c right? I would love for it to be real but that isn't possible, is it? The main thing that confuses me is that the opk's got darker and then lighter, but I've never used them before so maybe that is normal? I don't know what to think or do right now, any help would be appreciated.

With me, I had a d&c and by week 2 I was testing negative on HCG tests. I MC right at 9weeks. My following AF was 28days to the day of my MC and was a normal AF. So you could be pregnant, I would test again and see if the lines are getting darker. KUP on what you find out. Good luck sweetie!

After my Sept. m/c, I was using OPK's, and I ovulated 8 days after my miscarriage started. All bets are off with ovulation after a miscarriage. Did you have any beta's done after the D&C? It is possible you are indeed pregnant again. I'd keep testing, and if you keep getting BFP's, head to the dr. for a beta draw and early u/s.

I wish I had some answers for you but it's really hard to say. It very well could be a new pregnancy but it also could be left over HCG from your loss if you didn't test it out. What I would do is contact your doctor and go in for a progesterone & HCG draw. They will then probably do another in 48 hours to see if it's doubling and if it is it would be a new pregnancy

I agree, it is hard to say, it could be left over, but could also be a BFP.

The OPK's only get darker (positive) for a couple of days or just one, then they do go back to being negative, btw.

I ovulated a few days after I stopped bleeding from my m/c, and now I'm 8 weeks along and doing well so far.

Had d&c on november 3rd, during that month.....no luck. Tried again throughout the month of December. It's really stressing me out! Gonna take a test on the 30th..... I'm hoping it's a positive.

It's difficult to say, since you didn't bother testing yourself down to nothing. I tested positive for nearly 2 months.

I'd call your doc, like others suggested, and get two HCG draws 48 hours apart. That will tell you what is going on.

Like Shortcake said, it's hard to say whether it's left over hcg from the m/c (there could be some tissue left over even after a d&c) or if it is a new pregnancy.
The only thing I wanted to say is to please have your dr. check your hcg again to see if it is going up and do another u/s to figure out if it is a new pg or some tissue that's causing the bfp. Don't let the dr. talk you into taking anything or doing something before you know 100% that you aren't pg again. I'm just thinking back to a certain someone on here a while back who had the exact same thing happen to her and was told that it was from her m/c and then given meds to clear her system. And in fact it was a new pregnancy.

I also tested positive for 2 months post m/c. They then had to do a menstrual aspiration. I go in next week to see if my numbers ever went back to zero. I would check with your doctor. I've seen many women in here that do ovulate post m/c before their first AF so it's completely possible expecially since you had a D&C from the get go.

Thanks for the responses! I tested again the next day with FMU and the line was the same. I figured it may be too soon since I tested in the pm so I tested last night when I got home from work and still bfp but much lighter, this am FMU is the same as last night. Wouldn't you say since its getting lighter then it is from the m/c? Do you think I still need to see the doc?

I would give it a few more days. If the lines are getting lighter, my guess is your hcg levels are just taking their time coming down. If you are worried, I would request beta's.
