Hi, I thought I'd post a new intro thread since I haven't been around for quite awhile.

My name is Marti. I had quite the TTC journey on the way to our rainbow baby Jax, 3 losses over 2 years.

Our first pregnancy was unexpected but a very welcomed surprise. It was after we had only been married for a few months and shortly after DH had brain surgery. We had always assumed that I couldn't get pregnant since we had been together for 6 years before we had gotten married and never once had a pregnancy scare. I always knew I wanted kids but I never realized how badly until I saw that first ever BFP Unfortunately it ended up being a missed miscarriage and partial molar pregnancy, I needed a D&C. To make matters even worse, DH ended up needing a 2nd brain surgery a few weeks after we lost the baby

We waited for a few months to try again. We kind of went through kind of a rough time after that but ended up making it through and TTC again a few months later. We got pregnant on the first try! My OB was really great about getting me in to get my blood drawn and to get early ultrasounds. My HcG #'s were great but progesterone was low so he started me on prometrium. My progesterone never really got higher at all so he kept raising my dosage and luckily we saw a heartbeat on an u/s at 6 weeks. things were looking up! We went back the next week for another U/S and there was no heartbeat

Next try we decided to go at with clomid in hopes of catching a "stronger egg" and start prometrium 1 DPO to help with my progesterone level. It worked! We saw a heartbeat right away at 6 weeks and we heard the heartbeat with a doppler at 9 weeks! Everything looked good at the NT scan even though the baby was not moving much. The tech mentioned that the babies legs were crossed which didn't mean anything at the time but turns out that is the preferred position of T18 babies. At the end of the appt the nurse pricked my finger ant put 3 drops of blood on a piece of card stock. My OB didn't even see me that day since he looked at the U/S pics and said everything looked great. The blood work said otherwise...1 in less than 5 chance of trisomy 13 or 18. CVS confirmed that we had a baby girl with trisomy 18. We lost her at 15 weeks. I had a D&E. We named our baby girl Lilly Marie.

We tried again as soon as AF returned. Luckily we got pregnant with our rainbow baby Jax on the first try. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to us I breastfed him for a year and AF returned just a couple days before his first birthday. I got my 2nd AF today (30 days) so my cycles seem to be pretty regular even though he does nurse once a day.

I hope to get to know you all a bit better! There are a few familiar faces and a lot of new ones. I wasn't quite sure which board to come back to once we decided to TTC but this just seemed the natural choice Hopefully we won't have to go through another 3 losses before #2 but I guess we'll deal with whatever cards we're handed.

Thanks for reading my novel, if you've made it this far
