Hey ladies.. My sweet baby went to heave almost 3 weeks ago. We will be finding out the gender in a week when the report comes back. My baby died from encephalocele. This has been the hardest time of my life. This was our IUI baby. We thought we got so lucky when I got my BFP after my first IUI.
Anyway when is it safe to TTC after a D&C? I just can't wait the 3 plus cycles my doctor is telling me to wait. When did you start TTC again?

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet little miracle. I don't know about how long to wait to TTC again after D&C, but I wish you the best of luck.

I am so so sorry for your loss.
This kinda hits close to home since I lost a baby at 15 weeks due to multiple birth defects that were caused by trisomy 18. I had to have a two day D&E procedure because of how far along I was. My OB wanted me to wait 3 cycles to start TTC again, I told him I didn't want to wait as that was my 3rd loss and waiting never helped in the past. I waited for my first AF, which was about 30 days after the procedure, to TTC. We were very lucky and conceived our rainbow baby Jax that cycle.

I am so very sorry for your loss. With my first loss I had a D&C. The doctor told me to wait 1 cycle for dating purposes but knew I wouldn't wait. She told me that there was no medical reason to wait and if my body wasn't ready I wouldn't get pregnant. So we did try right away. You have to do what is right for you. Sometimes them telling you 3 months isn't just for your body to be healed it's so your emotionally ready as well. But it varies for each individual.

Thanks ladies! I think we will start TTC sooner than! I feel like the only thing that will help me heal is a BFP. I so badly want my baby.

Aw I am so sorry. Our stories are so much alike. It is so hard. I saw my baby at 4 different ultrasounds and my baby was fine. Perfect heart beat dancing around. So when we went in 5 days after our 4th ultrasound for our NT scan we were SHOCKED to see our baby had passed. Worst feeling ever to see that picture on the ultrasound screen. I am glad you were blessed your next cycle with Jax!!

I am so sorry for your loss Jaime I have had 3 losses and my last one was at 11 weeks and I know how hard it is. The women on here are fabulous and wonderful support.
I have never waited to try again, just went with the flow, hopefully your rainbow baby is just around the corner

I think the important thing is just to really allow yourself to listen to your body. With my first m/c, it was really hard on my body, and I really felt like I needed the full three months to heal physically before I was ready to TTC again. With my second m/c, I felt ready to try again right away. So, listen to your body, your heart, and of course each other... you and DH both have to feel strong enough emotionally to TTC again. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope your stay in TTCAL is a short one!

Hi Jamie, I hate seeing you over here but like I said before this is an awesome group of ladies Like I said before, we were told to wait for the first AF after the D&C.

I'm glad you plan on going ahead with TTC. Like you, I felt like the only way to get on with the healing process was to get pregnant again.
Please keep us updated when you find out the sex of your sweet angel. Do you plan on naming your baby?

I'm so sorry for what you're going through Jamie. I don't have any advice but wanted to make sure you knew you had support. I agree with listening to your body and your heart. Sending some prayers for healing, guidence, and miracles for you and your family.

Jamie, again, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how that feels after seeing your baby, seemingly healthy on the u/s, only to go in and be shocked - that was the worst thing, I lost a baby to Turner Syndrome at 12 weeks back in August and before our DD was born, I had lost one at 8 weeks (blighted ovum), both times, we waited until I had gotten AF, which was about 4 weeks after the D&E's and we were blessed both times. I wish you a very fast BFP/rainbow baby.
And I agree, follow what you feel is best, because as Katie said, your body will likely not get pg if it isn't ready.
HUGS!!

I was told I could try again right after my D&C. Unless there is a medical reason, I don't see why you have to wait.
So sorry for your loss....we are hear if you need to talk.

Jamie, I'm so sorry for your loss. My family has a strong history with neural tube defects, mostly ancephaly, so I'm so sorry to hear another woman is going through it too.
After my D&C I was told to wait for a proper period. I had a slight bleeding where a 'normal' period should have been but then a real period a few weeks later.
Make sure you ramp up your folic acid to get it back to a stable level.
Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
