Good morning everyone,
I think I'm gonna call my doctor later today, but want to hear what you girls think first.
I miscarried last Nov., had my first AF after the m/c late Dec. and had blood checks and u/s all saying everything is gone and levels are down to 0
Last Friday we BDed first time without contraception since my m/c. The Saturday morning afterwards I got a milky white secretion from my left breast when I squeezed my nipple. It was also itchy! I thought at first the itching was from a rash I had the week of Dec 26 (cuz the nipple itched then too, but obviously I thought it was from the rash then). Then the itchiness was pretty much gone for some days, came up here and there again. Yesterday night we BDed again and this morning I had itchy nipple and white secretion again upon squeezing the breast!! This time I squeezed the breast instead of the nipple, squeezed the right side too and it came out of that one as well, but the right one isn't itchy.
It doesn't come out on its own, only when I squeeze. And there is no blood or anything.
Is this like a leftover milkproduction or something??? Does this have anything to do with my m/c?? Has anyone else experienced this?
I didn't even tell my DH yet cuz he'll just freak out.

I have that from time to time but for me it come on its own every now and then. they get itchy and I have to clean it out and it stops to itch. I do not think it is something serious but to ease your mind you can contact your doctor.

Hi EJsMommy, thank you for your reply. Just got back home and will call the doctor to see what she says. It's only freaking me out because I read so many horror stories of all kinds of diseases and cancers online...

How far along were you when you miscarried? It could be milk production. My OB told me the last time I saw her that she can get leakage during a breast exam as far as 6 months after a mother has weaned her child. I would bet that it is milk. It can get itchy if you have a slight case of mastitis... if the itching eases when you express the white stuff, I would guess that is the cause. But, it's good you're going to see your doctor to rule out other things and get a solid answer!

Hi doremi,
thanks for replying! I was about 9/10 weeks along!
I haven't paid much attention to whether or not it stops itching after releasing the white secretion, but I will take note of that from now on!

I think that 9-10 weeks would be early for milk production but everyone is so different. Good luck with your Dr, KUP Im interested in what they have to say.

So I saw the doctor this week. She said my breasts are fine and it is probably milk production. She also wanted me to get bloodwork done though to check out my thyroid as that can be the cause too. Haven't heard the results of the blood test yet.

Thanks Belita. I think the difference is that I m/c naturally and for some weeks after I passed the fetus there was still some stuff left until I finally got my first period after my loss. So my body must have thought I was still pregnant for some time. The doctor didn't say that-it's just my theory (and my mom's )
