So I had the blood work and ultrasound done for my thyroid. The new is inconclusive. My blood work came back fine and my ultrasound is "normal" but my thyroid is larger than normal. It could just be that that is the size of my thyroid or there could be an underlying issue. So right now we are in limbo. They are sending my records to a specialist (in another state) for review and then depending on what they say then we go from there.

Well it is good that everything seems to be ok (except thyroid) but aggravating that you don't have answers. ((hugs Katie))

Ugh, more waiting! I'm glad the preliminary tests came back normal, though!

I'm glad everything came back normal, but it must be so frustrating to not have any definitive answers. I hope the results from the specialists come back soon. Are you feeling ok?

Too little iodine in one's diet can cause an enlarged thyroid. It could be as simple a fix as that! I'm holding out hope for you, Katie

Katie - did they tell you what the bloodwork levels came back at? I ask b/c mine was considered technically "normal" too within a older view of normal thyroid levels but my Dr said the view is changing on that so put me on meds to bring me into a lower range of normal (between 1.0 - 2.0 for TSH level, there's some other ones to look at too but that's the one most doctors focus on first). I think mine had been at 3.8 and technically under 4.0 at that time was still classed as normal...once on the meds and brought down to the 1.0 - 1.5 range all of my symptoms left and my thyroid shrunk back down to normal size.
I'm glad the u/s came back clean...that's the one you really want no issues with since they use it to rule out tumors & whatnot.
HUGS i hope you can get some answers soon!

I am glad that the prelim results are seemingly normal and I hope the specialist review comes back the same. In the meantime, I hope the time flies by and you are out of limbo soon!
