My friend got her blood testing done at 5 weeks and her progesterone was first 9 and then 7 something. The HCG was not quite doubling, but it wasn't bad. She's on progesterone supplementation now. Just wanted to see if anyone here has had experience with being able to keep a pregnancy with these kinds of levels.

lurking...I am. I had my period on 11/17 and had a "eh, if it happens it happens" cycle we weren't NTNP, it was just our last chance to try before it would affect school for me with my estimated due date, i had charted and made sure we timed it perfectly the 2 cycles before and got negatives/periods both cycles so i deemed it a "screw it" cycle and quit temping/charting. I got my period on 12/10 again. lasted 4 days, a little bit lighter than normal but not by much, and it tapered off to ending, woke up with medium-to-heavy spotting on days 5, 6, 7 again that would taper off to ending by the end of the night. End of day 7 i figured screw it, i'm testing in the morning spotting or no spotting because i felt off.
Days 4 & 5 i walked around in tears nearly all day both of those days and on day 5 i indulged in half a bottle of wine because i was so stressed out with semester finals and being on my period i figured i'm on day 5 of a period so there's not a chance i'm pregnant. Well, i was wrong. Day 8 i waited for the digi to pop up "not pregnant" and i'm sitting there watching the hour glass spin willing it to hurry up and show me my negative so i could get dressed and head to work and it popped up "Pregnant." my first thought was WTH?!, second was "holy crap, i'm pregnant" and third was "OMG, it's a miscarriage" since it was a saturday i had to wait until monday to call my doctor.

I've been on progesterone suppositories since that monday i called. My first numbers on 12/19 came back at HcG of 378 and Pro of 7.97. Next draw on 12/22 came back at HcG of 847 and P of 16.10. started bleeding bright red for several hours on 12/26 and the draw on 12/27 only came back at 1500 (should have been like 3400 at least by the standard "doubling" rules) and P dropped back down to 7.52. My OB had me come in and get a Rhogam shot that day since i'm Rh negative and ordered a redraw on 12/30 to see if my numbers would continue to go down. I was assuming a loss at that point as was he i'm guessing by having me come in and get the Rhogam shot. 12/30 my numbers came back at 2472 and 10.10. Had another draw on 1/4 and numbers came back at 4822 and 10.20. The on-call dr. ordered an ultrasound for me that day and we saw a gestational sac measuring between 5- 5 1/2 weeks...a little smaller than what it should have been, it should have been closer to 6wks by my period on 11/17. we didn't see any yolk sac or fetal pole which looking into some medical sites most times that isn't visible on a 5ish week u/s it's usually closer to 6-7 week though some are able to see it that early.

I was told to wait 2 weeks and come back for a follow up u/s with no blood work in the meantime and in this time i've had limited symptoms other than extremely yellow pee and a bit of fatigue here and there and occasional waves of morning sickness that come and go hours apart and last for just a couple minutes. I was so paranoid from the lack of symptoms that i went out last thursday or friday and got a cheap wally world test and got this:

I go back in for a follow up u/s this afternoon and i'm going to request a blood draw to check my progesterone if all goes well to see if i can switch to an oral supplement for progesterone or if i still need it at this point since my bleeding and spotting has stopped, i had been spotting/bleeding up until about the 7th or 8th of january..nearly a month. i'll update this afternoon and let you know how my u/s goes. I'm praying for a heartbeat and sea monkey to be there!

I haven't had experience with it, but I have heard of slow doubling. In fact, when I found out I'd likely m/c my doctor told me about women who had started out having low numbers and then they pick up. I

I hope that both your friend's (and you, Annie's) beans are okay!

the sac was smaller, she couldn't even date it. 2 weeks ago it measured 5wks 2 days-ish. I've kind of set myself up for this but it sucks. especially since i got that blaring positive last week. Dr. requested blood work to see where my numbers are going but i'm sure they went down. so i'll hear back on that either today but more than likely tomorrow and she wants me to do a follow up u/s next friday. so as of now i'm leaving. thanks for the well wishes and good luck to you all.

I have heard of it. But I don't know the outcome. Praying for you both!

I had low progesterone my second loss. Even with supplements (300 mg twice daily) it never got above 12. I started out taking 100mg, then my level still dropped, then 200 still dropped, then 300 and we lost the heartbeat

Have hope! My friend who is pregnant now and is 23weeks had low progesterone. Her numbers were at 4 at 5weeks. Where she goes to the doctor won't give you anything for low progesterone until you are 6weeks and the baby has a heartbeat. She is doing great and nothing else is was wrong.

I'm sorry, Annie!
Thanks for sharing, everyone. It sounds like it could go either way. She has a U/S next week, so we'll see how that goes.
