I just had a miscarriage a few days ago & I still have all my symptoms left. My breasts are still extremely sore.
Weirdly too I only bled for a day & spotted on and off for a few days before I actually bled.

I had a loss in 2008 at the exact same point and my symptoms went away the day before the bleeding started and my doctor was checking my hcg every few days. It took 10 days to go away completely. Plus I bled like a period.

Dr's pregnancy test was negative so it's not possible it wasn't a miscarriage. I don't know if I should go back to the clinic and ask for a blood draw.
I get the impression they didn't even believe that I was ever pregnant. I guess I should have brought the + hpt with me. Anyways so the dr was basically just like "if you don't get your next period on time come back" & left it at that.

We wanted to TTC next month but now I don't know if I can/should.

Has anyone experienced this? How long did you still have sore breasts & what not after a negative test & the bleeding stopped?

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think different doctors have different thresholds for a "negative" test. Did they give you a number? A woman in the TTC forum just was told she had a negative test and her hCG was 40!

I was still getting new symptoms as I was starting to miscarry, so I know they can hang around. I would think that they'd be gone if your hCG was down to 0, but I know it messes with your hormones. I'm sure someone can come along and offer more advice.

well it was a urine test so no way to know my hcg level unfortunately. I do not have a doctor or any way to get one right now since I don't have medical for this province. I can go back to a walk in clinic & ask for a blood draw though.

also thank you for your kind words

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately every pregnancy can be different. I had my miscarriage over 3 wks ago. I don't have any more symptoms but yet I still have a positive pregnancy test so it is possible that you could still have some symptoms but yet a negativee pregnancy test.

It is possible to still have symptoms even if your levels are zero or near zero. You body/hormones just haven't caught up yet. And trust me that part stinks because your going through your loss and having to deal with those symptoms. What I would do is make sure you keep taking tests until you at home don't have a positive test and once you don't then your numbers should be near/if not at zero. I hope your body catches up soon.

Hugs Heather! I've been thinking of you!

There have been times that my symptoms continued for a week or two after I started m/cing. Even after a negative urine test. If they don;t subside in a week or so, I would definitely go get a blood draw just to make sure they zero'd out.

Sorry for your loss. Hugs!

Sometimes it just takes a long long time. My 2nd m/c it took over 4 weeks to have a negative urine test. The blood draw is definitely the most accurate. This last time I had a d/c 5 days ago and I still have sore BBs, I have not taken a test yet as I will wait for a week.

with everyone. I think you can still have them. I am on the other end of things. Losing symptoms is how I knew something was wrong with my baby right before I MC.
