So I'm very excited! I've told you all that I'm making my own wedding cake. Well the wedding is in four weeks and so today I did the test run for the cake. I made the top two tiers of the cake and decorated them like I will for the wedding. The real thing will have four tiers.
The bottom tier is a chocolate/coffee cake with a raspberry and chambord filling. The top tier is a yellow butter cake with a whipped chocolate ganache filling. It's all frosted with an ivory buttercream frosting. The flowers on the top are just some that I had in the house... the final product will have fresh red roses and ivory calla lillies on top!

I love it and it sounds delicious! It reminds me of my wedding cake (4 tiers, ribbon, and fresh flowers on top).
