my husband and I have been ttc for over 2 yrs now. We had a miscarriage with twins in 04/2011.
In 08/2011 and 09/2011 I skipped my AF.
10/2011 I got diagnosed with PCOS and was started on 1000mg Metformin.
In 11/2011 I had a very short AF- about 4 days.
Mid December I had a follow up apt with my OBGYN to see if the Metformin was working. I had a 1.5 inch cyst on my right ovary and several small ones on my left. My OBGYN recommended to take a bcontrol pill for 30 days to get rid of that big cyst, she also increased my Metformin to 1500mg. She also gave me a prescription for Progesterone pills- she advised me to start taking them twice a day two days after I had a +OPK and until I know if I am pregnant or not-if I am pregnant I have to continue taking them, if not I can stop them.
I was taking the bcontrol pill from 12/17/11-01/06/12. From 01/07/12-01/10/12 I took the four iron pills. I did have some kind of AF/spotting from 12/3011-01/11/12. I never had an AF after I stopped taking the bcontrol pill.
I had a + OPK on 01/23/12. I started taking the Progesterone on 01/25/12.
Today I am having some very sharp pains and twinges in my lower abdomen. Its a shooting pain, it seems to be shooting from one site to the other. I also noticed a heavy milky white cm.
I am not trying to read into any symptoms but I am also hoping that things may have worked out this month. Could the Progesterone pills be the reason for the white cm?
Has anyone had any experiences with Progesterone and cm?
Progesterone will chance your CM from the most fertile to the least fertile, as once you are pregnant, you tend to have very unfertile CM. Mostly like lotion or 'creamy' as you might indicate on a chart. Heavy milky white would certainly count as 'creamy'.
I think the twinges might be that cyst but also cyst pain is quite common in women with a bigger corpus luteum or luteal cyst that supports pregnancy.
I have PCOS and have struggled with cysts on my right ovary for sooooo long. When I was pregnant with Soph, I had a MASSIVE CL cyst on my right ovary. They were afraid that bad boy would rupture, but it never did. Went away by 12 weeks to never be heard from again.
So, fingers crossed for excellent prog results and for a very sticky PG!!!

I definitely have more CM when on progesterone. When I am on the pills, the CM is very thick and often white as you describe. When I was pregnant with my son, my CM was also this way. Progesterone causes pregnancy symptoms, including the extra CM. I hope it is your month!! It is so hard to say whether the early symptoms are because of pregnancy or your medication. Good luck!
Ditto the other ladies! Crossing my fingers for you hun!

That's what sucks about taking progesterone, the pregnancy symptoms, blah. Good luck, and i hope the symptoms are because you're pregnant, nit just from the progesterone!
Thank you for all the answers! I'm scared that all the symptoms are caused by the progesterone.. Ugh.. How depressing. On top of that I got a bad on/off headache over the past 3 days and this morning I was nauseous for about 15 minutes after waking up.. But that could even be the Metformin. I'm about to give up, I hate this waiting game and always get my hopes up. Thank you for letting me vent!!
I also get headaches from the progesterone, and waves of nausea. It's nasty stuff... but if it helps a healthy baby grow, then I'll take it! But yeah, can't WAIT to be off of it!!!
I also get headaches from the progesterone! I hope you get some answers soon!
