I'll try not to make this too long, but I'd really like some opinions if you have knowledge about pregnancy soon after a MC.
So here's my situation. I had a MC on Jan. 2, exactly one month ago today. A few days after the bleeding stopped I tested negative on a HPT. I went back & forth about whether or not to try again right away. I'm a housewife so basically all I did all day was think and research and wait. I came to the decision that I would do whatever I felt ready for. Since I had no more bleeding or cramping, no pregnancy symptoms (aside from slightly higher pre-o temps than usual), and felt pretty much back to normal, we decided to go ahead and try.
At first I didn't have a lot of hope for this cycle, but then I finally got a +OPK and o'd on CD 21. I was planning to wait until the date I estimated AF would arrive (Sunday or Monday), but I broke down and tested this morning at 11dpo. It was almost like I lost control of my body and it just did the test on its own! Anyway, after posting the result on a couple of the other boards, I believe I have a faint early positive.
Someone warned me that there was a chance retained tissue could grow and cause a HPT to be positive. How likely is this? I miscarried at just over 6wks, and only had one day of severe cramping (I bled for five days, plus an additional three days of spotting), and haven't had any bleeding, cramping or signs of infection. I had previously read that if there was retained tissue, you would usually continue to bleed and cramp for much longer than what I experienced, usually more than two weeks.
I'm going to do another test on Saturday to see if the line is any darker. Until then all I can think about is whether or not this is for real. I'm having some breast tenderness and dull, non-painful cramps (I feel it mostly when I am laying down, especially if I cough or sneeze). I'd say those for my main symptoms.
Because of where I live, I can't just make a trip to the doctor and get everything checked out. I need to be pregnant, having a specific problem, or have had multiple miscarriages before they would want to do anything this soon. Also, even with pregnancies, they don't often do blood tests. So I know many people would want to recommend me to check with the doctor, and I wish I could, but it's not likely to be helpful at this point. My plan is to go at eight weeks when I get a sticky bean.
I'd love to know your thoughts. Does it sound like a new pregnancy, or could there be something wrong that I'm unaware of? I want my rainbow baby!
