SO, I have been highly considering taking some supplements to help us TTC.
BUT, I'm really apprehensive about pills even if they are vitamins.
This fear is stemming from my biological dad's death in July after taking some ibuprofen for a sore tooth.
I'm also scared that it will mess with my seemingly normal cycle I've had for three months.
So if you could tell me the positive/negative effects (including s and s!!!!) For those of you who have tried soy, B6, evening primrose, vitex, etc.
Tell me that they won't kill me in my sleep or deem me infertile for the rest of my life!

Well, I just posted my story in the other thread on graduates, but I will tell you that after almost 4 years of TTC with 2 losses and a failed IVF, that we ended up pregnant on our first try with soy. I took it days 5 through 9 for a strong ovulation. Needless to say I was shocked because my RE at the time told us that we would never conceive naturally on our own. Plus it was only my 2nd cycle after my failed IVF.

With that being said, it does not work for everybody and should not be taken on back to back cycles. It is mainly used for menopause from my understanding. Think of it as natural clomid without any of the bad side effects.

I used Evening Primrose Oil, B6, baby aspirin, and Red Raspberry Leaf capsules this cycle. Results TBD. The only problem I had is that I took too much B6 (100mg) at first and was getting dizzy, so I had to reduce down to 50mg. I just learned a week ago that you get the best results from B6 if you also take it with B12. I'm taking a B-50 pill that has 50mg each of B6 and B12.

Like Lindsey said with the soy it shouldn't be taken every cycle and if your cycles are regular I'm honestly not sure I would take it. I would however take a prenatal as well as a B-complex vitamin (neither will harm you I promise ) Other than than I'm not sure what else I would recommend taking without talking to your doctor first. Hope that helps hun!

Alright, I will probably hold off on the soy then, at least until after I start temping and get to know my body more. I am taking a prenatal (when I remember to) I think its O Cal FLA or something? It's supposed to be wayy good. And with the B vitamins is it okay if there are more than the b6 and b12 in them? I'm still looking forward to you testing Robyn! And Ty ladies for the answers!

The cycle that we conceived we were on femara, but I also had a little regimine that I stuck to lol. From cd1 I drank 1/2 a fresh squeezed lemon in a little cold water, 2 cups spearmint tea and used preseed everytime we dtd. We dtd every 48hrs to allow his supply to replenish until I knew I had o'd then all rules went out and we dtd until comfortable there was enough 'stuff' , I took a prenatal every other day, took folic acid the days I didnt take the multivitamin. I really like the idea behind the lemon water, it cleanses your system. And in case you are interested, preseed changes your ph and sways towards boys. Anyways, I know this is way more than you asked for but I felt like sharing, so take from it what you like, dismiss the rest.... Good luck!!!

Carlie, yes it's okay that the B vitamin has more than just B6 and B12 in it. Thanks! I'm starting to feel optimistic! I'm excited for your BFP and hope you won't need any of this! Although, the B6 can also help with morning sickness.
