Hey guys my name is brandi, i have a 2 boys 6 & 2, I got a BFP around Jan 12-13 i started spotting the 14th and spotted for two weeks straight.. just brown blood when you wipe then it STOPPED i had my blood drawn jan 20 and 23 first numbers were 40 second numbers were 89.. they said thats a normal rise for VERY VERY EARLY PREGNANCY, sd i had a 50/50 chance... everything was going good, got quesy, a new rack i was getting excited, then yesterday i took my last frer and it was almost non existen at 6 weeks 2 days, i called the doc this morning she had me come in for more blood, my numbers are at 8, she said my body will start my AF w/in 4 weeks if not im suppose to go back... she also said not to ttc again for a month or so.. so thats my story =) this has never happened before, so now i guess im just in the waiting game...

I have a ? tho, would you guys ttc right away, or would you wait like the doc said, does it really matter, even if we dont protect before i get AF?? im confused on how all this works??

p.s. this web site is awsome, thanks you guys for any input.. im looking forward to meet you all!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My doctor told me to wait until my hCG got to 0 and had my first real AF post-loss before TTC again. She said I would have a higher chance of another loss if I didn't wait. I've heard this is due to the hormones sill being out of whack from the pregnancy. It sounds like doctors differ on their recommendations so I'd do what feels right to you. DH and I did wait the full cycle because we felt it was enough of a concern for us to wait.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Like Robyn said doctors say different things usually varying from 1-3 cycles as waiting time. My doctor told me I could try right away after my losses because if your body isn't ready it won't get pregnant. It really depends on when your emotionally ready to try again. Welcome to the board hun and I hope you get your sticky BFP quickly!

I agree with y'all. I was told to wait 2cycles to get my body back to normal. I waited 1cycle to start trying again. My loss was at 9weeks. Also I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. The other ladies have already said it, but I think it really depends on your doctor as to when you can try again...and also your emotional state. My OB didn't have a problem with us trying again right away, but mentally I needed to wait one cycle. Do what's best for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I completely agree that this site is awesome. I had a loss at 7 weeks in February 2010 and got pregnant again in April 2010 with DD. There are lots of ladies that get pregnant with their sticky beans on the first cycle after their loss. You will know what is best for you so I say go with your heart. I couldn't stand the idea of waiting so we started trying again right away.

i am so sorry for your loss welcome to the group, you'll find a lot of great support here.

On your question of when to try again...there's a wide range of opinions from OBs/REs, some say no wait, others anywhere from 1-3 cycles for an early loss. I think you should do what you feel is right for you, and if you're not certain you want to wait ask your Dr more questions about why she recommend it.

aw im sorry Brandi!!!

to your question, I was not told to wait.. either time, I got pregnant 1-2 weeks after my MC in Dec, and well miscarried that one as well last Monday.. but don't know if its because of the previous loss with no break in between.. which im gona say i highly doubt it giving it was my 4th miscarriage and i have two preterm labored babies.. so i think it's more like a progesterone issue.

but even though this is my 2nd in a row miscarriage, i still was not told to wait.. i think it really matters on how far along you are when you miscarried, i think being your numbers were never really high to begin with, i dont think it will be a problem to start TTC immediately.. but if they were in the thousands, it's prob best to wait .. also depending on needing a D&C or not.. which i think you should go get checked for by ultrasound.. to make sure everything has cleared on it's own.. i had mine done today.

good luck!

so sorry for your loss. I was told by my doctor to wait out one regular AF after the m/c bleeding. I think it's best to wait that long, even though it's hard emotionally, but your body needs to relax and get back to normal.
Of course there are those who get pregnant again right away... I guess it really depends on your body, and your numbers never got that high, just like the others said.

I am so sorry for your loss. As for waiting, after my first 2 losses I waited and went on to have losses again. After my 3rd loss, I didn't wait and I went on to have my rainbow baby. I think if you are mentally ready, go for it.

I am so sorry for your loss!

I agree with everyone above, it's more of an emotional thing, as Katie said, I don't think your body will get pg if it's not ready (in most cases). I had a loss at 8 weeks in '08 and we started trying after AF showed, got pg on the first cycle and had DD, the second loss I had was at 12 weeks and again we only waited one cycle and so far so good - I am 20w along. I was just like you, couldn't stand to wait too long. My doc recommended 2 or 3 cycles...clearly we didn't listen!

GL and welcome to the board!!
