Last night I went back to my doctor for another check up and again there was nothing but an empty gestational sac. We scheduled a D&C for this morning. At 8 am I went back in and we checked again to be sure and still nothing. The most horrendous part is that I was given pain medicine and numbing medicine but I was actually awake for the procedure It was excruciating.

I am now on my way to trying to, heal and I will be continuing my journey to ttc as soon as possible, my doctor said there was no need to wait. The surgery was as non invasive as possible, almost like a pap smear, no vacuum just scraping to completely get the gestational sac out. (I am sorry if this is tmi) it was not what I was expecting at all.

I am home now and will probably be more active on this board, thank you for all being so supportive and for all your words of kindness and encouragement.

I'm so sorry, but I'm glad the physical part is through and you can now start to move forward.

I'm glad that your now able to focus on healing and grieving your loss. What you should expect after the D&C is some cramping & spotting. Usually your body will get AF between 4-8 weeks after the D&C but it can vary. I'm glad your doctor said your able to try right away and we are here for you every step of the way.

I'm so sorry! That's harsh that they kept you awake through that, how horrible!
At least the physical part is over and you can move on and try again as soon as you feel ready.
Do take your time to grieve. I think it's important that body and soul can agree, weird as this may sound to some.

I am so so very sorry for your loss! I can't believe they didn't put you to sleep. Nobody should have to go through that awake. Also please take time to grieve! You are in my thoughts and prayers! If you need anything, we are all here for you.

I, too, am surprised that they kept you awake, both the D&E and D&C procedures should be done while you are asleep! I am glad that you are able to move on, sorry you had to go through that though!

HUGS!!

I am so so so so sorry you were awake for your D&C. How traumatizing I was put under for my D&C but I was awake (but with LOTS of pain meds) for my D&E. It was the worst moments of my life I am so sorry.
