Hey ladies!

My name is Samantha and I just had my first pregnancy and first loss at five weeks. I know it was an early loss, but I am still taking it pretty hard. For any of you ladies that might have had an early loss at or around five weeks, do you know how long I will bleed? Will it be like a regular period lasting around five days? (my regular length anyway). I have to wait out this next cycle before we can ttc again, but I am just trying to get an idea of how long this will last. Would love some insight! TIA!

I'm so sorry, sweetie. I had the same thing happen to me over Christmas. Mine was just like a heavy period with bad cramping for the first day, then it lightened up. Aside from the extra heavy first day and the bad cramping the first day, it wasn't much different from a regular period for me. My first post-loss cycle was weird, so the hormones are still out of flux. Everyone's experience is different, but that's what it was like for me. Feel free to PM me any time if you want.

I also have taken my loss very hard, even though it was an early loss. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone handles loss differently. Do what you need to do for yourself in this difficult time.

Thanks, Robyn. I really appreciate it. Because we conceived this baby on clomid after I hadn't ovulated on my own for quite a few months, I think my hormone levels were screwed up to begin with and there just wasn't enough to support a pregnancy. Hugs to you too! Hope you get your rainbow baby this cycle

Hi Samantha,

I was about 9 weeks when I lost mine. The miscarriage (the passing of the fetus) was brutally painful, but the bleeding afterwards was just like a regular period, not much to it but lasted 1-2 weeks... can't actually remember how long exactly. I try to forget this painful time.

After that it took about 4-6 weeks for the period of my first regular cycle to come back again. And now we're back in the game.

I'm so sorry for your loss and just wish none of us had to go through this.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks, I really appreciate your kind words. I am so sorry for your loss as well. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone. I agree, it is awful that anyone ever has to go through it. I don't think I will ever understand the loss of life before the life is even allowed to be lived. It's just tragic all around.

Hope you get your rainbow baby soon!

I have had early and a late loss. With my early losses the bleeding was about the same as AF. The only difference was heavier, more clots and worse cramps for me. I am so sorry your having to go through this. We are here for you.

Oh no Sammy! I am so so so sorry. I'm sending you big hugs and prayers for comfort. I've not had an early loss, so I don't have any insight to add...but wanted to let you know Im terribly saddened for you and here if you need to chat or vent. Hang in there, my dear...

I'm so sorry for your loss! Both of my losses were around 5 weeks. The really bad cramping only lasted for 24 hours, and the bleeding lasted for about a week with both of my losses. Like the others said, LOTS of clots. Be prepared to feel insanely tired for awhile after your loss too. Miscarriage is really hard on your body! Wishing you a quick recovery physically and emotionally. No matter how early your loss, it is still devastating.

Sorry for your loss. Mine was only last month at just over six weeks. The bleeding went on for five days plus three days of spotting afterwards. It was heavier than any AF I've ever had, and my cramps were pretty severe on the first day. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

I am so sorry for your loss. Mine was right at 9weeks. I started spotting at 6weeks until I MC. I never really had a flow and had a D&C the day I MC naturally. After the D&C I spotted for about a week. I had my next AF right on time. Also my next AF was a little heavier and more cramps than usual. It is different with everyone though.

I am so sorry for your loss

My earliest loss was at 8 weeks and it was quite a bit heavier and more painful than a regular period. My other losses were a D&C and D&E so I have no others to compare it to. Physically, it was probably the hardest loss of my three.
