Was wondering if someone could help me figure this out. Ive been lurking and reading, but finally thought I would post. I have D&C on Jan 20th due ot blighted ovum. I was 7 weeks 3 days. My hcg was around 9500. I checked my hcg by HPT on Jan 29th and it was still positive (but very faint line). I was still only slightly spotting at that time. I started having what I thought was AF cramps around Feb 1 and 2. I took at HPT and OPK on Feb 2. The HPT was negative (not even the slightest of line) and the OPK was positive (on dollar tree test). I figured my cramps were from possible ovulation. I had one episode of EWCM on Feb 3 and me and my finance DTD on Feb 3rd. Now, I'm 5dop and curious if I really ovulated or if it was really too early since I had a positive HPT on the 29th. How long after a negative HPT will ovulation occur? I do have fatigue, nasal congestion, milkly CM, lots of indigestion (which I had with the loss). I know it is very early, but so keeping my hopes up. I am 43 and have three children from previous marriage. My finance is my first love from 25 years ago and has no children. Time is not on my side! BTW - we got pregnant with the loss on our first time together. Who would have thought that could happen. The miscarriage was so devastating to both of us. I'm very anxious to be PG again. Sorry for everyone's losses

Hi maddielee and welcome. I'm so sorry you had to go through this.

Every woman is different, but personally I think it's still too early. However, the gyn who covered for my regular gyn when I m/c told me that some women do get pregnant within 2 weeks after m/c - so it's not completely impossible.

I'm assuming you don't chart? I got pregnant again right after my MC (before AF), but I had a couple weeks after the bleeding stopped and after I saw a negative HPT before I ovulated. So I'm really not sure what to think in your case. If your OPK was positive, I guess it's possible, but it does seem awfully soon. Only time will tell!

I'm so sorry about your loss. That's almost twice as high as my HCG got and it took me almost 4 weeks to get back to zero. I think it's probably a little early. I would love to be wrong though!!

Thank you for your help. I agree, it is a little too soon. The OB gave me the go ahead - probably because of my age. Do any of you know how long it takes after a negative HPT for you to ovulate? Is it roughly too weeks from a negative result? or does the ovulation happen right after you get to negative? Thanks again. Still keeping my fingres crossed.

I am sorry for your loss. I just wanted to tell you that your OPK could have been positive due to the m/c as well. With a loss your hormones are all messed up so I wouldn't just go off of that as your ovulation predictor. It very well could have been that you O'd but that is really early after a loss for that to happen. Welcome to the board And that's what we are here for is to answer any questions that we can!

You won't ovulate until about 2 weeks after your hCG goes down to 0. That may be after your HPT was negative. I think it's highly unlikely you ovulated then. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for so much for your answers. I feel like it was too early also. Gosh, I wish AF would come on. It will only be 3 weeks since dnc this Friday. Probably wont happen to 4-6 weeks. Wish time was on my side. I just need to calm down and relax. Easier said than done.
