I am watching the local news right now and they just did a story about a 7 year old boy who died in a fire today. To make things worse, he was home alone at the time. I guess the family was living in a camper and used space heaters for heat (although, I'm not sure if they determined that's what caused the fire). It just breaks my heart. I assume the parents left him home because they had to work and didn't have any other choice. With them living in a camper and using space heaters, I would imagine that they couldn't afford a babysitter or to take a day off of work. I'm halfway mad at them for being so irresponsible, but I also feel bad for them if they couldn't do anything differently. I would imagine that no matter what happened, the guilt and grief they must feel has got to be enormous. Such a shame.

I agree! I am so devastated about the Josh Powell tragedy. I am so angry with him. It's one thing that he was such a coward and felt like he had to kill himself, but to murder the children too? So completely selfish. The loss of those children is absolutely horrible.

So sad! And the Powell thing was heartbreaking, I hate when people feel the need to end someone else's life because they can't handle what is going on in their own life, so sad that he felt that he had to take those children with him!!!!

I agree about the Powell situation. I can't even imagine being their family or also being that social worker.
