Bizarrely enough...I alm close to THREE people who this has happened to.

My aunt and uncle had two failed IVF cycles and were in their early 40s when they decided to stop trying (my uncle had lots of issues and was given a 1-in-10,000 chance of having a child naturally). Their daughter was conceived less than a year after their second failed attempt. She is almost 8 now.

And two friends have had successful IVF attempts (one had a loss and then a son from successful IVF cycles, one had twin girls) and have gone on to have naturally occurring pregnancies. The one with the son has actually had two natural pregnancies (a second son and now a daughter due in August). The other had a son five years after her daughters were born.

I read it can have something to do with jump starting the body into knowing what to do (all the shots and hormones). I don't know if it is that common, but I found it strange that I knew so many who went on to have natural pregnancies after fertility treatments.
