What kind do you take? And at least 400mcg folic acid?
I started taking Bio-Multi that was specialised for women who are pregnant or trying to be and it has 400mcg folic acid.

I take OneADay prenatals (just over the counter, no prescription needed) and it has 800mg folic acid/daily.

Prenatals are great to take but don't worry too much if you haven't started yet. I didn't take ANY prenatals throughout my entire pregnancy with DS and he came out perfect.

I've been taking Prenatals since starting TTC, I take the Brainstrong with DHA, also since we are secretly hoping for a girl I've added an extra calcium supplement to take at night. (of course the most important thing is a healthy baby regardless of sex, but figure extra calcium can't hurt and if it sways for girl, why not)

I also take them daily. I stopped after breast feeding my daughter and started again when I was pregnant in march and have continued since then.

I take them, too! I have a rx for them and my insurance pays for them so they are free for me! I'm a teacher and I think that they help keep me from catching what goes around at school. I haven't been sick in a LONG time!
I'm sure you'll be fine if you start now. Good luck!

I've been taking them for over 9 months straight now.. lol...stupid miscarriages. I am also taking Folbic, which is mega doses of folic acid, b6 and b12 (prescribed to me because I have some genetic thing that makes me not able to absorb folic acid properly)
