Hey ladies, just wondering, the way I plan to TTC is just sort of go at it in a laid-back way, not chart or anything but I'll probably watch for fertile CM. I had a weird cycle this time (no AF) so I checked to see if I was preggers, I'm not, and checked an OPT in case I was ovulating. I'm not O'ing either, but I just bought a few OPT's at the dollar store and don't want to go nuts with them, so I was wondering when to check again. I just got a faint line on the OPT. I sort of do want to find out when I O this cycle, or if I do at all, since I haven't ever paid attention to my cycle and don't know when I normally would. So should I give it a few days or a week? What do you ladies think?

If your going to use OPK's to see when your Oing you need to test at least once a day. If you O at different times in your cycle it's best to start when AF leaves and then test until your test is positive and then back to negative. I buy internet cheapie OPK's and mine work great for me. I usually test once a day and when it's almost positive then I start testing twice a day. The best time of the day to use an OPK is between 2pm-8pm. FMU is not good to use for OPKs. I hope that gives you some insight dear If you have any questions let me know!! Also here is a link to the OPK's I use!

Claire, I have no idea because I've never tracked my cycle. I had a missed period maybe a week ago and now have no idea what's what because I never keep track.

Katie, yes thank you that helps! And wow, I didn't know you could get OPK's so cheap! That's crazy! I was using the dollar store ones but 28 cents each is even cheaper. I will be testing again today then, thanks for the tip! Oh, and from what I remember, once you ovulate the egg is only good for 12 hours, so I imagine that's why you test twice a day when you get close.

Glad I could help They say once you ovulate its 12-24 hours for the egg. The reason I start testing twice a day is because I really want to make sure I catch my surge. From the LH surge you should O within 24-48 hours.

Ditto with what Katie said! Also the link for the Wondfo's are wonderful. I tested the Dollar Tree ones to the Wondfo's and hands down the Wondfo's done 10x better.

Thanks for that tidbit! I was wondering how they would compare quality-wise.

Katie, thanks for the link to the Amazon deal, I got 40 OPK's and 10 pg tests for much less than it would have cost me if I'd bought the dollar store tests! I just ordered them today and can't wait for it to arrive! Yay for free super saver shipping...I also ordered a book for my son, the Berenstain Bears "New Baby", to start reading to Ethan when I get pregnant! I'm hopeful it will be soon!
