Hi Ladies,

My name is Danielle im mom to two boys 5 and 2 and on July 8th I had my first miscarriage. I have never experienced anything like this before so I have some questions. About how long do you bleed for?? My bleeding seems to be off and on. On tuesday my Beta was already down to 31 so they say that is a good sign of recovery but they still want more blood tests. Also I have been having more cramping on my right side into my back im hoping that is just normal. I have read that you can ttc after you have your first normal period is this true??

Thanks in advance ladies.

Welcome. I am so sorry you are joining us under such horrible circumstances. I had a chemical last month and have started TTC but it will probably be different for you since you were a week ahead of me in terms of gestation. I would say whenever you feel comfortable to try again. After my ectopic we had to wait for the surgery scars to heal which took a lot longer.

I hope you are able to try again soon

So sorry to hear about your loss...and so recent, too. You must be heartbroken.

From what I hear about natural m/c (I had an emergency D&C), depending on how far along you are you can just have a heavier-than normal AF or bleed for a couple weeks. You're supposed to get medical attention right away if you soak more than one pad an hour. Keep in touch with your doctor if you have any questions or concerns, and also if you are in pain feel free to ask for pain medication. There's no reason you should have to suffer through it. Some women that are further along get actual labor pains.
Did you already miscarry and you're just waiting for the bleeding to subside? Or are you still waiting to pass everything? Hope you don't mind me asking that.
If your body is still passing tissue then cramping is going to be normal.

Here's a link to some info about miscarriage:

I hope that helps. You can also visit the Pregnancy Loss board if you want. I hope you can get back to TTC real soon, that does seem to help the grief to have something to look forward to.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is such a shock to have to go through. I've had a very odd period this month as well (check out my chart) I spotted, had af, stopped for 2 days, started again and then spotted for a week (even with ewcm and ovulating. Your body definitely doesn't go back to normal right away.

I'm not sure how far along you were, but your levels sound like they are going down and I agree with Joy, if you haven't passed everything, you will still have some cramping.

Best of luck to you in healing and we are here for you! ((HUGS)) I hope your body returns to normal soon.

Ditto this! I am so sorry your having to go through this Your beta being at 31 is a good sign that it's dropping quickly. As far as the bleeding it depends on how far along you were. Also some bleed heavier than others. We are here for you hun.

I had my m/c and d& c April 20th and it took me about 6 weeks to stop bleeding this time. The first time I had a m/c I got pregnant the next cycle. It all depends on the right timing for your body... which is the crappiest answer in the world!!! I really feel that the waiting part stinks!!!! Especially since we can't control any of it, yet are so in tune to our body. I wish you lots of luck!

i am so sorry to welcome you here Danielle this is a great support group though, so lean on us whenever you need to.

With your betas already under 100 I wouldn't imagine you would bleed much longer than a normal period - my early loss I maybe bled a day or 2 longer than normal for AF? it wasn't too bad honestly. And yes, you should be able to TTC again immediately whenever you're ready to. ((((HUGS))))

Thank you so much ladies for your support and great information. I have been bleeding since thursday 6/5 today it seems a brownish color so I hope it is subsiding. I am still having cramps but have been taking ib profen and tylenol. I am back to work as of yesterday and I HATE it. I hate that thinking about what I have lost consumes my mind a lot during the day. I know it happened for a reason though I really do. I also know it will take time.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I recently m/c too (this last week). I was nearly 10 weeks and bled for a solid week. I had an u/s done today and it's all passed. I was told to expect a period in 6 weeks, maybe sooner. I go back to work August 1st and am looking forward to it myself. I will be too busy to dwell on it (I hope anyways). I pray you will have a speedy recovery too.

*My doctor today told me to wait for one period then I was free to try again. Your doctor will advise you what's best for you since they know your personal history. Maybe we will get to try again around the same time

Hey Dannie! I've never posted here before but I had a natural miscarriage and the bleeding lasted a couple of weeks. As long as it is getting lighter its a good sign that things are resolving themselves on their own. I'm so sorry that things didn't work out, I know how excited you were about the baby.

Sorry to welcome you under these terrible circumstances....I agree with the other ladies and as long as the bleeding is getting lighter and the beta is getting lower its a good sign. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Every woman is different. I have been told when you are mentally ready to TTC then you can. xx

I wish you peaceful days ahead x
