Fingers crossed for you. I had an ectopic a year and a half ago and lost my right tube. I hope you get your rainbow baby!

Hello Farrah. Welcome to the group. I am sorry to hear about your loss. My name is Rebecca and I had an ectopic in December as well. Thankfully they were able to treat me with methotrexate. If the shots did not work they were going to have to take a portion of my uterus because the baby was right outside of the tube. My chances of being able to carry another child with a uterus that was not whole was going to be slim to none. I know of other women on JM who have in fact gone on to have their rainbow babies after losing a tube so there is hope. That's what I love about JM. If you look hard enough in these boards you will find someone who has almost the exact story you do except they are holding their rainbow babies now. So don't lose hope!!

*Pregnancy Mentioned*

Hi Farrah,
I had an ectopic in my left tube in April of 2011. It ruptured as well, but was more of a slow leak. I still required emergency surgery and though I was able to keep my tube, it turned out a few months later that it was completely blocked and I might as well have lost it. That being said, I am currently 13 weeks pregnant with what I truly hope is my rainbow baby, and everything has been going great so far. Definitely stay positive, it will happen.

I Had an Undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy that ruptured December 10th of 2011. My right tube was taken out I was 10 and half weeks. I did not know I was pregnant at the time however because at 7 weeks I went to an u/s and they said they found no baby but the woman never bothered to check my tubes. It really is horrible thing but I know what you have went through. Best of luck to you and I hope you have a LO soon!

At the time I wasnt trying to get pregnant but Im still a very maternal person I loved that baby as soon as I saw the second line on the test. I had a very hard time with it but one thing that did make me feel better is knowing there was nothing wrong with me and if anything our babies were very strong to live inside of our fallopian tubes for as long as they did. For me it was a very close call I almost died I guess I have a very strong pain tolerence even though it was the worst pain I had ever experienced like you said I didnt know what was wrong and so I ignored it and tried to sleep it off lucky for me I couldnt I stood up and fainted then seized and again lucky for me I was not alone. The ambulance had to be called. Speaking of which the emt that was sent was stupid he tried telling my grandmother that I was just dehydrated until he tried to lift me to put me on the cart and I screamed in pain. I want to say it was 7 bags of plasma and 11 of blood but that might not be exact. I hope your situation wasnt as traumatic. I really hope you get your little one and I know he or she will be a strong one!

Wow MadMay, can I just say that sounds pretty crazy? Do you have somewhere that you've blogged your story? I had a close call with my m/c too but only had to have 2 bags of blood. It almost sounds like you nearly lost all the blood in your body! Just makes me curious as to more of what happened there.

No I dont have a blog. The doctor told me that my fallopian tube had probably torn the day before and then ruptured the day of so I had been bleeding internally for two days and I literally almost died as in they told my family that there was a good chance that I would not wake up from the surgery. I had to stay in the hospital for three days after the surgery. I feel the reason that I didnt notice or care that I was in pain was because I had been told that I had lost my baby only three weeks ago and I was just feeling very numb to my surroundings.

Wow that's pretty crazy. I can't imagine being your family and hearing that you might not make it. I'm glad that you lived to tell about it.

Wow. As if losing a pregnancy wasn't enough, you had to go through the scary time of a medical crisis as well.
I understand how that feels...I started hemorrhaging while trying to m/c at home and DH had to rush me to the hospital. It was close by so it was faster than calling for an ambulance. Anyway I had to have an emergency D&C and a couple units of blood. Ended up with a blood clot in my lung as well. Could have been worse, but it was still scary.
I'm glad you're ok, and that the crisis is over...I hope you can continue to heal physically and emotionally.
