About 3 weeks ago I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, I had been bleeding since week 6 but each time I went for an ultrasound baby was fine & heartbeat was strong. I apologize, this might be TMI but with the bleeding I noticed a strange odor, it almost smelled like body odor. I found it very very weird because I've never really had any problems going on down there, I don't get yeast infections frequently, I really think the last one I had was 2 - 3 years ago.

The smell was just really strange and I was wondering if maybe it was maybe a sign of the miscarriage.

Personally I've not experienced that associated with miscarriage. Here's some for ya. I know when I'm anxious (not in a good way), or worried, or nervous about something, my nether regions will sometimes sweat. Could it be that with you? Just a thought...

I'm not positive but I think if there is an odor then that can be a sign of infection. Did you notice it before the miscarriage or after?

I have never experienced that. The idea that it could be related to an infection makes sense though. I would say ask your doctor?

It has nothing to do with a miscarriage, though I have experienced it myself with mine, but I found that to be the case after I gave birth to my son. Of course there is a long period after giving birth and for me it was 4 weeks, during which I had that odor.

It's not a sign of infection. It's what your body smells like on the inside. The heavier the hemorrhage the more pronounced the odor.

I had this with my last chemical two weeks ago, but not any other time. I also bled more after this "miscarriage" than I did when I was further along and miscarried. I just chocked it up to my being on lovenox the first time and my blood being different. It went away when I stopped bleeding. I have no idea what it was from and I also NEVER have that issue normally. It was gross for me, but don't worry it will go away.

Thanks for your responses, I did not mention that the smell isn't there anymore. If I am remembering correctly, the smell stopped before the bleeding stopped. It seemed like it started soon after the bleeding started. The bleeding started 3 weeks before my miscarriage (at 6 weeks), I had a procedure done the day i found out i miscarried (9 weeks 4 days, baby measured 9 weeks 2 days) and bled for about 2 1/2 weeks after my miscarriage. The bleeding gradually stopped too, thank goodness because I was getting worried. Nothing strange going on down there now but I just thought it was very weird. I have never experienced anything like that before, even during my period there is never an odor, especially that kind of odor!
