Were any of you ladies warned that your milk would come in after your M/C? Does it depend on how far along you were to determine when it'll go away?

My doctor never really mentioned it to me and I did not think to ask. My breasts did continue to be very tender and sore after my D&C but the pain went away in a month. I do think it would depend on how far along you were but I am really not sure.

No one talked to me about it, but I think it depends how far along you were. I had losses at 7w and 9w, and I never had milk come in after my d&c with either of those.

I didn't think to ask either, but I wondered after I left the hospital with my second loss. I never actually had milk with either loss, 7 and 18 weeks. I had very sore breasts with both though.

I was warned by the nurses at the hospital with my 22 week loss. My milk came in exactly 3 days after the loss and it was awful. They leaked for a long time too. I tried ice packs and sports bras, and just about everything to get them to dry up. I then heard benadryl can help so I tried that and they finally dried up after that. thank God. I'm so sorry you are going through that. I remember how it was just a continuous painful daily reminder.

Thanks for the information ladies. I haven't had let down yet, but today I felt the milk ducts burning. It could just be the hormones decreasing but I did some research and found alot of women who had their milk come in. I just wanted to be prepared.

With my 12 week loss my milk didn't actually come in, but my breast got super hard, sore and hot as if it would.
