I was curious. People mention that if I am still bleeding then the miscarriage is not over. I had a complete stop in bleeding but then it picks up for a little bit more and stops again. So two days in a row I had like no blood and then it picked up for an hour or so for some spotting and then it stopped. What should I think about that?

I know that you should have no sex when you are bleeding to avoid the possibility of infections. My husband will soon not be around and for a few months so I am trying to make sure it is safe before he leaves but I am not sure whether it is or not.

I would probably put a call into your doctor to check out what their opinion is. I know it is different for every situation. I had a D&C not a natural miscarriage so I am sure the restrictions were different for me. Hope you get some answers!!

I had a procedure similar to a D&C, I bled for 3 weeks after and I remember a couple times towards the end of the bleeding there was little to no blood and then it would pick back up a little heavier. I would make a call to the Dr. to be sure.

I also had a D&C and I'm sure those restrictions were different from a normal miscarriage. I would also suggest you give your Dr. a call just to check!!! Good luck and keep us posted

I've had 2 D&Cs and 2 natural m/cs....especially with the natural m/c, I did have intermittent bleeding where it would seem to reduce to almost nothing and then if I worked out or was walking a lot, suddenly bleeding would start up again. That said, I agree with Elle it's worth mentioning to your doctor - are they tracking your hcg levels down to 0 (or below 5)? If not, you can also self check by taking a pregnancy test a few times until you get a negative. Retained tissue isn't common with m/c (although it does happen to some women - both with D&Cs and natural m/c), but especially where you opt to complete the m/c naturally most doctors will monitor a little more closely to make sure levels go down to normal.

When they did my labs on Friday (4/12) my levels were already down to 104 and now when I take a test it is already coming up negative. I am only bleeding for like a half an hour to an hour or so when I have it which is not very often.

And the bleeding is not really bleeding. It is a wipe with some blood on the tissue but not nearly like a period.

I would probably wait it out a little longer. I especially agree with Lara that if you do something a little more strenuous and it picks up again, it's just that maybe everything is quite totally healed up yet. It's a good sign that the HPTs are negative, maybe just a few more days of rest to be sure. I would also check with your doctor about testing down to zero. For both of my losses I had labs drawn every 1-2 weeks until it was zero. Sorry your hubby is going to be gone for a while, i know how hard that is

I would check in with your Dr. just to be on the safe side. See what they have to say. It does sound good that you have a negative hpt though.

Yea I know that time is not there. I know that my health is of the utmost importance but I am just talking in nature of being intimate with my husband. Not even so much about the trying again aspect. Given I want to try again but right now I am leary on whether it is safe for us to even dtd at all.
