So, my midwife prescribed 5 months worth of progesterone when I was pregnant a few cycles ago. I have been filling the prescriptions but not taking them...for "insurance" if I want to take them myself. I am toying with the choice to take them next cycle when we TTC. It can't really be a harm if I take a little extra right? All my internet research says it should be fine.

I only have about a month's worth of progesterone left, but I am going to start it as soon as I get a BFP. It makes me CRAZY sick, so I'm not looking forward to it at all. But, I will take sick in trade for a baby any day.

Luckily it doesn't make me sick, it just intensifies any PMS / pregnancy symptoms I get, but yeah, I will take those side effects to have a baby any day.

Rachel, make sure to take them from 3dpo and on.....too early can stop ovulation. I used to stop on 12dpo if bfn when I was TTC. Good luck, Im praying for you ALWAYS!

Ladies, do you get progesterone (cream or otherwise) by prescription or over the counter?

I'm going to try some progesterone boosting supplements this cycle but if I could get the real deal that would be fabulous!

I have the suppository kind... I'm very uneducated on progesterone so I'm interested in what the options are.

I had the suppository kind when I stayed pregnant with Marsi. Lori, I do know to take it at 3 DPO, but thank you for the reminder. I haven't done the creams, but it is a good option.

I have found thus site very helpful. Progesterone and Fertility | Progesterone and Getting Pregnant
