Is it affecting your family currently? What are your thoughts? Do you think it will be resolved anytime soon? (Please don't turn this into a debate )

It is affecting us. My husband is a federal employee and is currently working BUT will not be getting paid until the new budget goes through. It's very frustrating to me. Each day that passes I get angrier. The people still getting paid are the ones not doing their jobs (congress/president). I bet if they weren't getting paid they would move a lot quicker for resolution!!

It is definitely affecting our family. I am not allowed to go to work and I am only getting paid through the 15th. Because I am a contractor I will not get back paid if I am furloughed on the 15th I will just be forced to take leave with out pay. It has been a frustrating and confusing time for us especially since DH is a contractor as well although he is not currently affected.

At first I really thought it would only be a couple days but from everything I am seeing on the news it feels like it will be at least another week at a minimum and likely longer. No one really seems to know

I think that's the most frustrating for me, that we don't know when it will end.

My husband is a DOD civilian - he was declared essential, but the paycheck will be affected as far as we know, until it's all sorted out. Outside of that I will digress because I really don't want to get into a political debate and I feel very strongly.

It's not effecting my family but I can tell you I'm very upset about it. Especial when I hear, oh yes the government employees that basically chose to shut down will be getting paid! WTH

So does that mean our average gov employees who want to work but can't will get paid too? HELL NO

I don't work anymore, and my DH's job is not affected, but those of you who are will be in my thoughts. It sounds like a very frustrating situation.
