I got my first 2 betas back!

HCG @ 14 DPO = 526.2 and Progesterone = 34.8
HCG @ 16 DPO = 1,266.3

So they are doubling every 37.88 hours and pretty high. The nurse thinks my dates are off but they line up well with my temps, OPKs, and CM. . . but who knows I guess. I am so nervous but can't help but be very excited. My first U/S @ 6 weeks is scheduled for December 31st.

Thank you so much ladies for all of your support along the way!!

So my doctor prescribed me progesterone but I couldnt fill it until yesterday (which I did) but then I saw that my Progesterone was 34.8 and I felt like maybe I didnt need it. Any thoughts on that??? I am considering not taking it.

SO Excited for you! Congratulations on the wonderful numbers!

I too had high-ish progesterone numbers early on when I was first tested (with my OB). When I started seeing my RE, he prescribed progesterone, and I told him I was skeptical that I'd need it. He explained that my body could have been producing it just fine early on, but later when it was time for the placenta to take over, it might not have been ready/producing enough. That was explanation enough for me.

It can't hurt. Honestly, there's really no way to know for sure, but for something that can't hurt, may likely help, and is just a tiny bit of a hassle, worth it IMO.

Sooo happy for you!! I'm kind of inbetween doctors right now while I'm trying to find one that I'm comfortable with, but two do tots I've talked to wouldn't even test my progesterone levels for me. One said "we don't test that, we will simply put you on progesterone automatically when you get a positive pregnancy test." The reason is what Mel said. They both said that the levels can change overnight so they're not super reliable. I would use the progesterone just I case

Thanks ladies!!! And thanks so much for the advice!! I have started the Progesterone better safe than sorry for sure.

The doctor called me in for a third beta today which surprised me but I went in for it and will hopefully get those results in the next few hours.

Got the new results:

14DPO - 526.2
16 DPO - 1266.3 (doubling time of 37.88 hours)
18 DPO - 3555.0 (doubling time of 32.22 hours)

The average HCG for 18 DPO is 700 so it is pretty high still. Only time will tell why. . . Maybe my dates are off?? They said they may have me come in for more betas this week so we will see.
