Hi guys.........

I need some thoughts from you ladies......

I went to my ob/gyn this past Monday for my f/u after my m/c and they took blood to check hcg level. At that time it was almost 4 weeks since my m/c.....actually tomorrow (Thurs) will be 4 weeks since my m/c. Well today they called me and told my hcg level was at 5.9......that is low, it could be from the
m/c (but from 4 weeks ago?) wouldn't my level be at 0 by now?

Anyway, my dh and I had sex last week, don't remember exactly when.......I do remember having a lot of thin wet cm.....I didn't think anything of it.....I also remember feeling that achey feeling by my ovaries when I usually ovulate.....still didn't pay no mind to it. Well we had sex a few times last week.

So, last night and all day today, I have been having mild cramping as if AF is on her way....so far no blood....just some little bit of yellowish cm.

The nurse told me that it is possible to conceive during this period. We would naturally ovulate before getting our 1st period after a m/c

Could it be that I am pregnant? has anyone experienced anything like this? Does anyone know if their hcg levels still lingered at almost 4 weeks later?
I'm starting to get nervous........I am doing bloodwork tomorrow again to check if hcg level dropped or is going up!!!!!!

Help!

Steph

I have heard too that you could O during the month after you have a m/c. I had a m/c on the 1st of May and I have to go back to take another pregnancy test just to make sure that it's a BFN.

Sometimes it takes a little time to get it all out of your system. I guess you will just have to wait and see what happens...if it goes up then you will know that you are pregnant again...if it goes down then you will know that you aren't.

Good luck!!

Angie

I've heard from many women that you're the most fertile right after a mc, but I have not had personal exp. concerning this. From what I've heard it is not uncommon to mc then ttc right after and get prego. Based on those theories I've started TTC again and it's only been 1 1/2 wks since my mc. Don't get your hopes up to much, but I think there is a very good chance that you're prego again.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I just wanted to confirm something... you are not MORE fertile after a MC you O normally and have an equal chance of getting pregnant then than if you had sex 4 months before or after your MC. The belief that you are more fertile after a mc is a misconception, some women just get "lucky" and their dh or s.o. shoots on target.

I think it is odd for the blood level to be that low that long after the mc...so you might be pregnant. Try not to get your hopes up or anything...that way if af shows up you're not more upset.

Regardless,
BABY DUST TO YOU HONEY!

hi there, i just wanted to add that you can be very fertile after a m/c because i went to a specialist two days ago and he said i ovulated two days prior to the visit and he saw about 5 eggs, so if that isn't fertile than I don't know what is. He told me to be very careful and then took a pregnancy test right away, it was negative thank god, because now they are doing all kinds of tests on me before I get pregnant again. But our levels are crazy after a m.c so just be patient, hope it all works out.

Ok, that is interesting...must be a difference in opinion or women then b/c I had asked a specialist about the fertile thought and she said that you weren't more or less fertile after, someone just got pregnant after b/c how their body responded.

Wasn't trying to offend you.

Thank you everyone......you are all so helpful.........It is 5:30 pm and I went to the bathroom and there was some blood........so, it must be AF showing up. pretty much on time. I will still go tomorrow to get the hcg levels checked.

If it is AF then that can actually be good.......it is 4 weeks....so it's pretty much on time. I know some women don't get AF for 6-8 weeks after a m/c. I just don't understand why the hcg level would be 5.9 after almost 4 weeks after m/c.

This whole cycle and ttc stuff is so exhausting!!!!!

Thanks for your great thoughts.

i also conceived rather easily after my m/c, and it is true that you are more fertile after a miscarriage because your body is cleaning itself completely and more eggs drop
