So I went back to the Dr that did the surgery taking my left tube to show him the pictures from the surgery to remove my right tube, since you can see in the pictures very clearly what appears to be the left tube regenerating with about 6 -8 inches of new growth. He thought the whole thing was very interesting, but he thinks that the new growth is most likely a blood vessel (if he's right, it's an awfuly big one???) and wants me to get a HSG test to find out where the dye stops. If it stops at the original point where the tube was cut off, then he feels he is correct in thinking it's just a blood vessel, but if it goes into the growth, then he wants to have a paper written about the whole thing. He also wants to find out (if it is the tube) if it is open to the abdominal cavity or if it is closed. If it's open I have a chance of having another ectopic pregnancy (BLEH!) since the fimbral end is not there. If it is the tube growing, well, then the end is not there YET anyway

. Whatever it turns out to be, it's still an interesting turn of events! In any case, we're still saving up and planning on IVF.
So now I am trying to get ahold of the dr from the 2nd surgery to ask him again if he still really thinks that's the tube, and ask him about the possibility of it being a blood vessel instead. (Dumb, dumb, dumb, apparently they do not have an OB triage nurse in today so there is no way anyone can get a message to anyone. So I have to call back tomorrow to leave a message for him even though he is actually there today and not tomorrow!

) I will tell him too about where it was originally cut off vs. where he thinks it was cut off. Anyway if he still feels it's the tube then I think I might schedule the HSG test out of curiosity. If he changes his mind and goes with the blood vessel theory I'll probably just leave it at that.
For anyone that's had an HSG, if the dye does flow into the abdominal cavity, where does it go? Do they just leave it in there to be absorbed by the body or do they take it out somehow?
On another note, I just HATE being in the OB waiting room seeing all these happy preggo women!

I don't begrudge them their happiness, but I could hardly keep the tears out of my eyes.
UGH! It will take 2 years for us to save up for IVF! Maybe 1 1/2 years if we spend absolutely nothing and have no unexpected bills in the meantime. That's the problem, those bills are UNexpected!
