WOO HOO I am so excited!!!!

FINALLY!!!!! We've lived here for 11 years this spring, and finally the dining room & living room are being gutted!!

WOO HOO!!!!! Well, the dining room first, then the living room. They are plaster and lath and there is absolutely zero insulation in the walls. That gets mighty cold (and expensive) in the winter!

I cleaned out the entire dining room today, dismantled and put downstairs the corner hutch (it is a built-in) and the walls are coming down!!! And the ceiling, and the floor is coming up . . . fun stuff!! I am super, super excited about this project! My swirly-berry wallpaper from The Country House is just itching to be put up on some nice sheetrock next to those brand new windows that are currently living in my basement . . .

I kind of feel bad to spend the $$ we saved for this, it could be a really nice start for IVF, but . . . this remodel project will help us be able to sell the house so we can hopefully break even or even come out ahead on this house! And our goal is to get out in the country to raise kids anyway.

how exciting! i love the whole remodeling thing, we've been working on our house too. well, the actual remodeling stuff is a pain with all the dirt and mess, but it is so worth it when it's done. and the insulation makes such a huge difference. our house is old and didn't have any either. you should take before and after pics! i love seeing pics of stuff like that! have fun!

Oh that's so exciting!!! I love remodeling!!! I can't wait to do our house!!! Make sure to take lots of pics!!! I'd love to see em!

Here's a couple of "before" pics:
This is right after we refinished the wood floor in Dec 2004, but most of the stuff in there changed positions over the years

Looks like we'll be starting demo tomorrow morning, after a quick run to Home Depot. WOO HOO!!!!!

ETA uh-oh . . . sounds like demo is going on right now downstairs! Better run down there and see what DH is doing!
