Well for me, I was charting down my CM's on a calender. From when I first saw the CM, and jotting down when I got the eggwhites CM. Then I waited about 14 days from the last day I noticed the eggwhite CM to do a test.
I did it that way, because for one thing...most women usually have an average 14day luteal phase -meaning after OV, it takes 14 days after til they expect their AF. Because I was charting my CM's, I knew when my expected OV date was and just counted from there.
I did a test on 13dpo (days past ovulation), and it was NEGATIVE. Then 2 days later, AF showed up.
So best advice is, chart your CM's...to give you a rough estimate as to when you have ovulated. Then count 14 days past ovulation to get your estimated AF expectant date. You'll be off a couple days though because not every women have a 14day luteal phase.
I had a miscarriage on Jan 8th...I got my AF 8 weeks later. I just finished my AF today. And just like you,I didn't know when to expect my AF. So charting down my CM stages, helped alot!!
