Hi ladies, I recently had my 2nd m/c and my doctor was nice enough to give me all those tests you usually don't get until your 3rd. I was negative for everything except anticardiolipins (ACAs) - I got a 13 and the normal range is 1-6. My doctor prescribed baby aspirin, or 81mg/daily.
I'm curious if anyone who has tested positive for anticardiolipins or other clotting factors received baby aspirin or a more powerful anticoagulant such as heparin, warfarin or Lovenox. I read one study which determined that women who tested positive for antiphospholipids (APAs) as well as the ACAs who received heparin+aspirin vs those who received aspirin alone had around a 70% successful birth rate as opposed to a 40% successful birth rate of the only-aspirin takers. I couldn't find a study that talked about women with ACAs alone.
Hmmm. Anyone else have ACAs? What is your level & what did your doctor prescribe?
