You know it's bad when . . . we stopped at my MIL's on Easter and there was no hi, how are you, happy Easter . . . the very first thing she said was WOW, your face looks TERRIBLE you're breaking out SO BAD! Gee, thanks for pointing that out, I would never have guessed otherwise . Gotta love MIL's. And here I thought I'd done a pretty good job with makeup.
I was put on BC way back in my early teens bc my cramps were bad and I have a high tolerance for pain meds, and I ended up staying on BC for like 14 years. The only thing I really miss about it is that I always had a nice complexion, I rarely had to wear makeup. But, since I went off it (almost 2 1/2 yrs ago) my face looks SO bad! I edit any photos of me when I upload them, it's so bad.
I'm really into natural stuff, and I made myself a special healing cream, and yeah, it works really great everywhere else on my body! (I used to break out on my arms/legs/back too) It helps my face to heal, but it doesn't stop the breakouts. UGH!
Sad thing is, the only times it ever cleared up was when I was pg! So today, I threw out ALL of my makeup and decided to start fresh. I spent $40 on new stuff and to me that's a ton of money for someone who never had to spend any $$ on that! Geez, I didn't even know they made makeup that's supposed to not only cover but heal blemishes! I HOPE it works!

oh i so feel for you. i never had a single pimple when i was a teenager. as soon as i turned 20 and had Kyana my face was horrible. i got those big, red, sore pimples all over my face and i had them for years. it was so bad i wouldn't let anyone near me with a camera and i hated even leaving the house. finally it got better, but i still struggle with breakouts. they don't come very often, but when they do they can get pretty bad and i have to be extremely careful what i use on my face. if you like the natural stuff, Dessert Essence makes a tea tree face wash wich is excelent for acne, and Revive Labs makes a light skin peel which is also really good. they carry them at GNC. good luck and i hope it clears up for you soon. ((((HUGS))))

I am sorry hun. I dont break out too bad, thing is when I do I cant really use anything. I have BAD dry skin and nothing has helped with it so if I wash my face it makes it 3 times worse.
I know how you feel with the whole MIL thing, mine was really nice on Easter. Now Dh Aunt and Uncle didnt say a word to me. I am not good enough for them since I am a stay at home.

I do use some Dessert Essence stuff. I love tea tree oil! It's in everything I make . . . but I think I'll try that peel. Maybe that will help with the scarring. Rose hip seed oil and Immortelle (heliochysm) essential oil are also supposed to be wonderful for scarring, they go in every cream/lotion I make too but the problem is I just keep getting new scarring! Juls I know what you mean, these are also the big, red, sore ones that come with a ton of swelling, and they hurt!!! Doesn't matter if I touch the blemishes or not, even if I leave them completely alone I still end up with a dark spot when they're gone I keep hoping that if I get to be pg long enough maybe they'll go away!

Girl...I too have a problem with acne. And yes while I was on BC it did help my skin. I suggest trying "Proactive" it works great!!! Or for something over the counter I would try "Aveeno's Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser" it make your skin feel sooooo smooth, and yes it helps with breakouts.

That stinks, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope that they decide to quit for you real soon!!

My face has been breaking out too since I stopped BC, I am not sure what to do, I never had a problem like this, but I was on it for about 10 yrs, I guess I just thought it was me, not that the BC was stopping the breakouts, I hope my hormones decide to fix themselves soon

i love tea tree too, you can use it for just about anything! unfortunately my skin has gotten way too dry over the years for me to use it. Reviva Labs also makes a brown spot skin lightening cream. normally i don't like those creams, but this one really works and is great for acne scarring. also, i noticed other people mentioning proactive. my sister swears by this stuff! she started breaking out when she turned 40 and it cleared it all up for her. it's pricey, but she just loves it.
