My period showed up late last night (with a vengeance). It was exactly 6 weeks after my D&C. We were TTC but I didn't know when I ovulated. So it was sort of hit and miss. Obviously a miss. Anyway, we will be trying again this month. Like I've said on here before, I have never known when I ovulated. I just always thought it was somewhere in the middle of my cycle. Is there a better way of figuring it out without charting or anything like that?

without charting & temping, you could try OPK's, and/or watching your CM, but those just let you know your body is about to ovulate, but that helps too since the sperm can live for up to 5 days I think and the egg lives up to 24 hrs so bd'ing when you think you are about to O is easier timing than trying to pinpoint exactly when you O.
Some women get cramps and/or twinges when they O. I either never had them before the 1st pg or I just never noticed them until I started looking for signs
Good luck!!

Have you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It's really an excellent book. It focuses a lot on charting, but even if you don't want to chart I would recommend it. I charted with my first pregnancy and while it was definitely valuable at helping me figure out my cycle and my body, I found it very stressful. I don't plan on doing it again unless I feel like I really HAVE to. With the rest of my pregnancies I just watched my CM and paid attention to where I was in my cycle. I am fairly regular (although I do have a shorter luteal phase) so it's not that hard for me to figure it out. But anyway my CM alone is a really good indicator of what is going on with my body. Of course you can't really prove that you've ovulated just using that, but I don't think I've ever had a problem with not ovulating so that is ok for me.

Best way in knowing when you're in your "fertile" stage, is observing your CERVICAL MUCOUS. When it starts getting slippery, then turning to egg-white mucous (clear stretchey cervical mucous that resembles "egg-white"), it means you are close to ovulation.

Make sure you Bd during this type of CM. This type of CM will help keep the sperm alive and wait for the egg to release. Just make sure you BD everyday or every other day during this CM.
